Not really, just said to make you look at it. Anyway, I've just finished my morning dose of MGS2 (you'll notice I finished in the afternoon), and I've just reached the part where you're in Arsenal Gear. And now this game is really beginning to impress...

At first I was a little disappointed with the emotional side of things, but that's all been sorted out thanks to an untimely death. Also, the music is much more strange and spooky inside Metal Gear. Lovely.

But what is really...well, I can't say it in words. The CODEC. Especially Campbell. I don't think I've ever been so...I don't know, I was feeling around 3 emotions at the same time! Humour at some of the stuff he says, confusement when he tells you to turn off the console and a lot of it 'freaked' me out, like when his face is a bit...well, skeletal I guess. I love the way he says things from MGS, and also the first ever Metal Gear game! It really is fantastic, and when I saved the game and turned the console off (got found by those ninja guards, I had no chance) it was like waking up from a dream.

I'm still not sure if I prefer it to MGS, but now I know why MGS is such a cut above the others. Mario?? Lara Croft?? Halo?? Pah, they are nothing compared to this piece of art.

Obviously, I still haven't completed it, and I don't really want to. I want this game to go on forever, dammit. No game (apart from the original) has made me want to play as much as this, and I don't think any other game could. A masterpiece.

Thanks for reading, or skimming, Ant.

My Gawd...fighting Solidus now.

The plot's gone over my head a little, my only worry is that they've gone too far this time with the complexity of the plot, but I think I understand.

If anyone can find the time, give me a quick update on MSN or something, just to check I know what's going on. {:)

I tell you what though, the bits with "Campbell" and "Rose" are so weird...this game is far from a realistic adventure game.

Yeah, it's alright.

But Raiden's a GIRL! For Christs sake, he does cartwheels. Snake was hard. Raiden is a girl.

Doesn't linear mean, "the same", like it's the same thing over and over??

Already I have taken down guards (by many means), snuck past guards, disposed bombs, taken out IR sensors, defeated bosses, swam, guided a girl through a building and then sniped guards/cyphers/mines out as she walked along a thin walkway and I expect there's a bit more.

Now on Perfect Dark am I right in saying you...shoot??

{:)

Not arguing that PDark isn't good, just saying it's not so linear once you get into it.

I played MGS2 round a mates house, nice graphics, good AI but I thought the controls where clunky and the game was far too linear.

Admiteddly it's a good game maybe even very good but i'd rather be playing Perfect Dark. A big problem is lastability, my mate completed it after 13 hours of play, the only reason he has to go back is to collect dog tags and take photo's, which lets face the majority of gamers couldn't give a rats-ass about.

MGS2= Good game but by no means a master piece.

Please not that all that I have just written is my opinion, in no way am I saying MGS2 is crap i'm just saying what I think.

I agree, but if you DO go back to Mario, you would probably retract that statement. Remember, Mario 64 is 6 years old, and still better than any other platform game thrown at us. (cue PlayStation fans to start arguing that Jak and Daxter is better ) :)
