The guy who write the reviews is called Dave Gibbon, i think that says it all really :D

Though I have to say for a game i'd never heard of, the footage i've seen of it does look very good.

Wahey! There we go! Its not the only thing I`ve read that suggests it either :D I guess it comes down to whether or not a reviewer is willing to go up against Mario. If they rate other games more highly, and people disagree completely, they could lose a lot of credibility, but there are some who are willing to take the risk. (In that I don`t include Edge who seem to spend most of their time thinking out how to use their next set of "shock tactics").

Okay, it's not considered a major review source, but check out the 8-page review on BBC1 Ceefax, page 536.

It ends:

"Ratchet & Clank is an amazingly large game for a platformer.

It will take even a serious gamer a good while to get through this - but they will have a brilliant time whil they are doing it.

While Mario Sunshine may be considered a classic, Ratchet & Clank offers an even better experience. Superb gameplay and awesome graphics make this an absolute must."

I played the demo and immediately disliked it. I couldn't really tell you why. Does anyone else think that the chap runs really slowly?

Several multi-format reviewers have rated Ratchet and Clank as being better than Mario. After all, Mario is much more like Jak and Daxter with its simpler moves and story. Besides, do you wanna watch a silly old man with a moustache run around being a plum, or a cool robot and his new alien friend?
