Trust me it will be.

Didn't it? bloody well impressed me!

Best game ever.

Nope it is now called 1080: Avalanche and made by a different team, but you knew that. And Wave Race is alright if you get into it. The sharing of names was to do with the sharing of characters.

Cause it was made by Rare.

Then You're no Nintendo fan at all.

Don't we all.

And a good review claiming it was better than Mario Sunshine.

You miss understood me, thankgod it's only on the X-box, is what I meant.
I don't want that sort of crap on the GC.
:)
It handles platforming as well as an FPS could...
I wouldn't go as far to say that THAT does the series justice in the platforming department, but not as bad as I thought.
Besides, it's not like the game was meant to be focused around platforming.

Bits of it. I didn't want to go into too much detail because little spoilers were leaking out - nothing major, just enough to to dampen a couple of surprises.
I'll read it again for the platforming bits.

That's not possible in a first person mode.
Either the camera changes or the platforming is merely good by FPS standards, which means that it doesn't touch the original.

Sounds interesting.
There were plenty of elements to Metroid other than platforming, so perhaps they've been done extra well.
Remember though, these are first impressions after a limited amount of play.
I thought the DK64 was Donkey Kong Country in 3D for the first few hours of play...

Shenmue 3 isn't definately a X-Box exclusive at the moment. It all depends how well Shenmue 2 does on X-Box!
:)

Have you read it yet? it says it's full of the kind platforming and gaming that made Super Metroid so damn good. 1 of the guys was like you, not sure how well Metroid would transfer to 1st person cause he loved the first game, now he's played it he's had to eat his words cause it truly is Metroid in 3D.

It's still not quite as Metroid as it could've been - it seems that all of Samus' kick-ass jumping moves will have been removed (platforming + first person doesn't mix), but I suppose this is as good as we could hope for in the real world, and what it lacks in platforming will be likely made up for in atmosphere.
I'll be getting it.
