what do you think was the best ever home entertainment console, not including g-cube, x-box, or ps2 and why do you think this was?

I think my dad would go for the spectrum because the games weren't too complex, he is a big fan of "booty", "flying shark" and some others.
My mum would go for the amiga only because she is severly addicted to a game called volified on it (amiga is now safely stashed away so she can get on with every day life).

I'd go with my N64 since I didn't have a snes,nes, mega drive....

Nope, tested them all over a period of time, and they're all working fine. Console works too. All the games come with instructions and cases. Proving staffies wrong kicks asss!

I have a Spectrum and about 100 games, but nobody will buy it off me. One Retro shop said "It's too old, we only take games that are around the 1994 mark." Heck, that ain't proper Retro. Anyone know where I can sell it, like a shop? Or, does anybody know anyone who would be interested in buying one? Don't bother saying eBay...

personally, i prefer the nes because of its simple controller design that was easy to use, and the game's gtraphics were so bad, that gameplay actually did matter

I think the Spectrum was the best because ordinary people could learn to program it.
