I posted this in the Xbox forum, but wanted to share it with all you open minded non-biased posters :-)

From C&VG:

Microsoft's machine rockets 46 percent over last week's figures, GameCube stiffs on a 3 percent rise and PS2 smashes the light-barrier

15:19 The Christmas spending rush began in earnest last week as console sales rose across the board in Britain, with big winners emerging as Xbox and PlayStation 2.
Xbox sales rose 46 percent to 15,102 in the week ending November 10. The sound you're hearing is Microsoft staffers screaming for joy, especially when you compare that figure to GameCube sales.

The Nintendo console sold 6,839 machines last week, a rise of a mere 3 percent. Game Boy Advance remained the star of Nintendo's show in the run-up to Christmas, shifting 15,557 units, a rise of 14 percent week over week.

Now for the biggy. PlayStation 2 sold 45,245 consoles in Britain last week, a 14 percent increase over the previous seven days. And with the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City last Friday, you can expect this week's figures to increase again. Don't underestimate, etc.

Looking good!

And with top titles coming out over the next couple of weeks, it looks like Xbox is starting to get a decent sized user base. Looks like nothing will catch PS2 though. Can't believe it's selling so strong considering how old it is!

Or we've just looked at the upcoming releases list, and realised that most of the games on there are poo hot, and quite a few are Xbox Exclusive.

Then there's the little matter of Xbox Live...

Noooooooooooooo

The xbox is too hyped in my opinion. The people who tend to buy it have been brainwashed by the "specs" of the xbox.

I'm buying a new PC...

More games, better graphics, more functionality, less fuss over internet gaming, better developed user base both generally and for online gaming, I can copy CDs with it, watch DVDs, check e-mail, develop websites, manage my finances, and buy things from the internet.

Your XBOX can play a few games and dream of playing on the internet. Nice.

Grr... I didn't get anything free with my SNES, I had to pay extra for the games. It's not fair!

Erm, if the release of Mario, Nintendo's most famous character, doesn't help matters, then I'm not sure what will...

The GameCubes sales will soon spike, with the releases of such amazing games as:
Starfox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet
Star Wars: Clone Wars
Star Wars Bounty Hunter
..and other such great games..

These will cause GameCubes sales to rise rapidly, im guessing it will overtake the XBox, and maybe the PS2 (with any luck)
