For those of you who don't have a clue what that means, I enjoy digital TV! Yep, that's right! Gone (from the living room anyway) is the twenty year old C&G branded TV and in is the new Sony Trinitron digitally integrated TV. That means, instead of only being able to recieve a clear picture on BBC Wales, BBC 2 Wales, HTV Wales and S4C, I can now recieve the regional channels for both Wales and England, plus many other channels I didn't even know existed like the highly acclaimed BBC Parliament! So am I happy? Well, I'll let you figure that out...

Anyway, I decided to try out my GameCube, as one does, on this new piece of technology to enter my ancient realm (of which I call home). There's a three letter word that describes my reaction perfectly: WOW. I first tried it with Timesplitters 2. Bloomin' amazing! I even saw a vast improvement in Anaconda, the minigame found on the 'Temporal Uplink' in the game. The sound effects were much better and the quality of the flat 2-Dimensional graphics was crystal clear! When I decided to finish that co-operative level with my brother in the jungle, I noticed an even vaster improvement! I knew it would be better, but not that much better.

So I decided to have a bash at Eternal Darkness this afternoon. I closed all doors, drew the curtains and turned out the lights. I turned the volume up on the TV and started playing, "Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, doubting...". For the first time, that echoed through my mind. I was ready for a psychological thriller that would change the way I see gaming for a long, long time. The sound effects were chilling, effected my senses, and the whispering, despite only being on Nicam Stereo (haven't got surround speakers to fit yet), I felt I could hear the whispers all around me! I was spookified!

After I completed a chapter and a half of Eternal Darkness, I decided to have a go at Super Mario Sunshine. Everything looked fine until I got into the main game itself. How I was disappointed to see that Mario wasn't his normal figure, but about as short as a Goomba in Super Mario World and as fat as Baby-Bowser from Yoshi's Island! Mario's voice even sounded like it was taken off the Game Boy Advance game Super Mario Advance! The game looks and sounds brilliant on my square-screen TV, but on one of the better model TVs, the game does not look, sound or even feel right!

Anyway, I mostly play on my consoles in my bedroom, considering the TV belongs to my mum and she prefers to watch her dosage of Casualty, Holby City and whatever else is on that I don't feel like watching so decide to play my GameCube, so I don't have too much of a problem where Mario is concerned, but I still think the other games I've played with the new TV are greatly improved just by being played on a different machine!

So, as they say in the land of the red, coal-mining, valley-diving, Rhyl-disgusting, smut-providing dragon, Rydw i'n mwynhau teledu digidol!

Really? Most Welsh speakers I've heard use the greetings Bore Da (Good morning), Prynhawn Da (Good Afternoon) or Nos Da (Good Evening).

Anyway, the sooner us 'Welshies', or Superior Beings as we like to be called (prepares to make a dash for Mexico), lynch that wobbly-mouthed tart from Cardiff, who is not a superior being, Charlotte Church, the sooner we can all live with our dignity in tact for the rest of our happy lives.

Indeed, I have no quarrel with Sony's audio and visual output systems, just their gaming systems aren't up to their usual high standards.

Well considering you replaced 'gyda' which as far as I can remember means 'with' with 'amoran', I'm confused...
