Monday...
Everyone I know who applied for the beta testing recieved their kits including my mate who didn't want to be a beta tester until changing his mind on the day it came to ordering. I call the X-Box Live line to find out whats happening with my order as I couldn't check the order status online - I'm told that my order is "In Process" and that I should be fine as people who weren't getting a kit had already recieved a cancellation e-mail over their order. Long boring day at work.
Tuesday...
Another long shat day at work. Get home quickly in the hope that I might just have my beta kit. After seeing that it hadn't come I find out that I can check my order status online by filling out the address manually - still in process.
Wednesday...
Check my mail in the hope of finding a despatch mail from MS before leaving for work - no luck. Get to work and within 20 mins of starting, I stack it over a barrel - taking skin off my legs along with a 40kg item on top of me (bloody heavy for all those that don't know). After limping around work for 9 hours, I return home to find that my beta kit still hasn't come and that the status hasn't changed from "In Process".
Go to write an e-mail to Microsoft about how I'm worried about my order - comp crashes and I can't be bothered to re-type it all so I just goto bed.
Thursday...
Wake up and quickly check my mail - a mail from Microsoft ! My eyes then travel to the right to see the subject title "Your order could not be processed".... After going into a frenzy of swearing and letting off line after line of abusive comments aimed at MS, I goto work and walk around totally unapproachable for around 3 quarters of the day.
End up feeling ill around halfway through the day with a headache and end up throwing up. Feeling too gutted to even bother going home sick so I just finish the work day. Legs still really hurt from the day before.
After having most of the day to cool off a little, I write a mail to MS telling them how I feel about the way I've been treated by them as an early buyer of the MS console (some of you may remember I also waited around 90 days for a thankyou package that I really didn't benefit from).
Watch Episode 2 (Star Wars), then goto bed wondering if I should really bother getting up to face Friday after the way the week has gone.
Blinx also arrived and I had a little go and really liked it - the hatred for MS at the time ruined the whole day though.
Friday...
I woke up feeling a little better. Picked up the latest XBM and X-Gamer to read during my breaks. Managed to stay on a high enough to get some excitment going for the games coming out next week. Work day is pretty long but not too bad. Get home and recieve a package from my girlfriend in the States. And thats basically been my week. At least today has finished the week on a high. Poxy MS though. :-(
This morning went to go on XBox Live, but I couldnt update my console, so couldnt play, started to think something was wrong, but thought "i'll try again later". The my PC started to get Hacked to bits, luckly my Firewall stops it all. Internet hasnt been that good all day, wouldnt load up webpages. Tried to connect to XBox Live at 9pm, couldnt and the whole sharing connection was messed up. Firewall wasnt enabled and seemed screwed, had to try and download it again, but Kazaa was messed up. Whole computer started messing up. Now internet is fine and XBox Live works well, but still re-installing and configuring my Firewall.
As for the PS2 - I'll probably grab one with VC when I have some cash available. At the moment I'm paying for my gf's flight over here for just after Christmas, Christmas presents and a number of X-Box titles I really want. Not sure what other titles I want for PS2 yet, but I'm guessing one or two will pop up as time goes on. ;-)
X-Box is still my main priority despite MS seemingly enjoying kicking me in the gonads whenever the chance arises.
Job wise, I'm looking to move onto something else, but at the moment, the job I'm in is a case of not having a choice - I need the money so I have to drag myself into that shat pit 5 days a week and find someway to stay motivated enough not to slash my bloody wrists. That might sound a bit strong, but that really is how deadend and depressing this place tends to be. So as you can imagine, being strung along by Microsoft again wasn't the nicest thing to have happening on top of going to this job everyday.
Is the job you currently have your only choice? They always say you should do a job you enjoy, something that when you get up in the morning, you don't dread going to.
As for the Beta kit, I sort of know how you feel. I got the email, but had no cash to buy it, so I could do nothing but stare at the order page, wishing I could have both the beta kit and GTA VC.
Vice City's a great game, by the way. If you really do feel a little cheesed off at MS, I suggest you go out and pick up a PS2 with a copy of GTA VC and some of the other top games that are out for the PS2 right now, such as Ratchet And Clank. It might give you some time to cool down a little.
Who wants to play me on XBconnect? ;-)
