The "Sony Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
I leave this topic open for debate.
You really havent quite grasped what a DISCUSSION forum is all about have you. We come here and we share our opinions and thoughts. We agree to disagree on many issues and then we back up our arguments in order for people to understand how we came to hold our opinions.
We try to discourage the random flinging of insults and that is all that you seem to be capable of. Come back when you have bothered to take the time to come up with some well thought out points.
HE IS ALSO BIASED TOWARDS THE PS2 AT SCHOOL AND CAN BE VERY G*Y!!! NOT LITERALLY OF COURSE, although, well......
Thanks for reading, Ant.
Yep, you're spot on there, but that's what I meant. If Sony, Sega or Nintendo weren't in it for the money, they'd just sit back and bask in the warm, happy-glowy feeling that they got from so many satisfied customers with their first consoles, and give the games away for free. But I'm sure none of them are about to do that!
The primary reason any of them make new, better, faster consoles is because they know that if they don't, people will buy other consoles from companies that are updating, and they won't make any money.
If you think about it from purely a financial point of view, Sony are the least likely to be in it for the money; they make so much dosh from all of their other products that they hardly need extra cash.
>saying about everyone being in it for the money, I sometimes wonder this about that Shigsy character Nintendo employ (Creator of Mario, Zelda...) The way he talks about games and consoles make him seem like hes happy just making games without the pay.
Well, I can relate to that. As a programmer myself, turning out a good product which people enjoy using is extremely rewarding in itself; to hear people singing the praises of a piece of software you've created is great, and it does wonders for the ego. If it weren't for the bills that need to be paid, I could quite happily go without pay myself.

Every machine has duff games, and the PlayStation has more than its fair share simply because of the sheer number of titles produced. The PC has even more games and even more duffers.
The quality of games isn't down to Sony; that responsibility lies with the publishers. Sony's QA is only to assure that titles are bug-free, not to guarantee a particular standard of game.
That said, there a large number of absolute gems on PlayStation, and there will be on PS2 - just as there are on other machines.
Sure, Sony could refuse licenses for crap games, but then there'd be complaints about them deciding what people could and couldn't play. It's a bit like censorship - they have no right to dictate what should and shouldn't be available.
At the end of the day, as long as a particular platform has games that you want to play, it shouldn't make any difference how many duffers are available; if you think a game is crap, you don't buy it.
A lot of the people here have certainly not greeted tigerblades opinions, which sure, you dont have to but as a mature adult, you should. If someone has more experience than you, you should listnen.... NO??? I like many consoles but Sony is different, I have no problem with the games or companies behind the PS or PS2 but Sony are in it for the cash and are not trying hard at all, all that they want is mula, not for people to be happy or to produce better games.
GameCube probably will be better than PS2. But it's not available until next year.
And PS3 will be better than GameCube. And the next console will be better than PS3. And so on. Is it really worth the effort?
If you do like GameCube, discuss it with other GameCube fans - I'm sure you'll get much more satisfaction. It is a very good machine, but the PS2 owners here want to discuss PS2. When they want to discuss GameCube, I'm sure they can find the appropriate forum.
Most of us are too mature for "mine's better than yours" arguments.
