it's not like he's short tempered or anything it's just some games can push him a little over the edge.
lets go back to the early 90's when sav's uncle brought him a nice game for the NES i think or maybe it was the SNES, the game was called 'Marble madness' now this game was one of those so called puzzle games.
it wasn't what sav was exspecting (he wanted gremlins 2 which was a pretty sweet game) but he was polite said thanx and put the game on.
he failed the first level a couple of times and thought to himself 'hmmmm so it's challenging'
after about 30mins of falling off the edge of the maze and hearing that stupid noise the game went through several punishments.
first it was slung against the wall, then later thrown in the bath complete with water! later on it was thrown from a window onto concrete followed by (and the one that tickles me) he flipped big time and lobbed it down the bog and flushed it LOL.
now this kinda made him feel better till the game dried off and he thought to himself 'hmmmm wonder if it still works?' he puts it back in the 'Nintendo Entertainment System' and the game still worked!
anyway moving on to the sav of today, remember he had a game cube for a while well he still has one game which he couldn't trade in. Luigi's mansion. Now it wasn't because he liked the game so much he couldn't part with it, it was because a few ghosts got to him and the game basically wound him up into a fit which had the game disk ripped out of the machine and thrown and the game case was jumped on and sherreded by his bare hands.
sometimes when sav plays a game it's just kinda fun to watch the game wined him up. Like when we played Fifa world cup on the PS2. listening him shout abuse at the england squad as well as the computer controlled team was so funny. sadly none of the terms he uses can be typed here due to the word filter but really it has to be seen.
the best games were the nintendo ones as nintendo games normaly have stupidly hard setting that can't be done but sav will always try and prove them wrong hehe like rouge leader LOL another classic.
all these games i mentioned were mainly of sav being beat by the game and that's the nice way of putting it, some games are just stupidly hard on settings like 'expert' that they just doesn't seem a point to the setting.
when sav wins on the other hand there's normally a lot of bragging which isn't as funny as it's normally me he's beat LOL.
i hope you enjoyed reading about sav's savism and i hope one day it'll be a download on the x box site so everyone can see how games can push certain calm and ok people into abusive monsters.
"Awwwwwwwwwww, I wanna play !"
"No ! not the physical abuse again argh !!!!" - think of the scream when you got killed in Doom for an accurate sound. ;-))
Either that or I make her wear the headset while you lot say "Can he come out and play ?" ;-))

Well sorry for liking Slave 1 from the films. :-|
Thing is, you had to work your backside off to get that ship and when you finally get it, its a useless pile of crap. To me thats pretty stupid as it should be possible to complete all the missions with Slave 1 - especially with it being a bonus ship. I was bitterly disappointed that it was only good for getting a gold on 1, maybe 2 levels.
The TIE fighter was pretty lame too - as cool as it looked, there was just no point in playing as the thing.
To me it was things like this that let down Rogue Leader. Watch Slave 1 in action in episode 2 and then try and compare the sorry pile of crap that you see in RL to what you see in the film. Lazy effort on what should have been an excellent ship. :-(

Well that's YOUR fault for using Slave 1! :-D
That ship was crap...
It came in handy on the second level. Gold is much easier to get with those homing missile salvo's...
ok so i kinda got it wrong, it's not like sav can't do the game as he does eventually just with a lot of abuse and sometimes it's so funny i end up in tears. like the time we were playing fifa world cup and sav stood up yelling at seaman as the crap controls tell seaman to hooof it into the stands LOL he must of been bitchin about it for about 10mins after too.

I actually beat Luigi's Mansion pretty quickly - including the reverse mode. I still beat games really quickly, I just have sod all patience when it comes to playing the same bit again and again. ;-)

I can beat them too - most of the time pretty easily. Its down to me having no patience a lot of the time. I beat Luigi's Mansion and I was doing the second mansion (where everything is basically in reverse). I got to that room late in the game - Think it was the top floor where you have that icey floor (you have to take a few steps up). I was surrounded by a stupid amount of ghosts in all directions with sod all space to go anywhere. After a number of attempts, I lost my rag with it and the box ended up destroyed.
Thing is, all the GC games I had had this tendancy to have stupid moments where it was more based on luck in getting through than skill and after playing a combination of all of them throughout the day, Luigi's Mansion got the abuse.
Never had that problem with my X-Box games - if I start to feel annoyed with a game, I can switch to a different game and cool off. With th GC games, I couldn't escape frustration because as I said, all the games I had tended to have a couple of areas that got on my bloody nerves - with the exception of Wave Race, I just found that boring and didn't find myself in a mood to play it often.
As for my er temper entering X-Box Live soon, I don't think I'll have any problems with it. When playing games such as Moto GP, I don't really think of myself as a great player when it comes to those kinds of games, although my mate Jay thought I was damn good (I was doing doughnuts on the start line and wheelies and still winning with spaces of around 18 seconds between me and second place). But then players are different to the CPU, so I'll be going out to have a laugh really.
I don't go into a rage over losing as such - its mainly over tasks in games that are just ridiculously frustrating. Examples of this being things like going over a guitar string in monkeyball with the poxy monkey screaming its head off, that bit in Luigi's Mansion where you have no space to move and can't grab a ghost because the others keep hitting you from behind, trying to do most missions in Rogue Leader with a ship like Slave 1 which is as weak as a TIE fighter and as slow as a Y-Wing.
Timesplitters 2 has had its moments too with some stupid tasks, but as I said, on my X-Box I've been able to just switch games and play something else thats a bit more relaxed.
Overall though, the Savisms I come out with have to be witnessed in person to appreciate them - particularly with the actions I do. ;-) I guess having a yank gf with 2 brothers has put a combination of American bragging with my usual stuff. ;-))
> Oh and Luigi's Mansion, well, what was left of it, went in the bin.
Cor Sav.. you really can pick 'em, can't you? Granted, Luigi's Mansion's a very good game but there are so many others you could get. Who knows - you might still have your GameCube!
