I am thinking about buying an Xbox and i am def going to but i was just wndering about playing it on "live". I own a 512kb/sec NTL cable modem and every1 talks about broadband and it is 128kb/sec i think.
Does anybody know if Xbox "live" will work if i hook it up to my 512kb/sec cable modem and if so would i just need to buy the whole pack which gives me the microphone thingy and a yrs subscription?.

Cheers for any replies that Heelp me :-)

Nothing, we just get it before they do. Also I think that the Test Drive people dont get the nice case that the Betas got and they dont get the orange memory card.

As a beta tester we have access to Xbox Live before anyone else, that’s the main thing. Plus we get a orange memory card and a wallet for the stuff that is exclusive to beta testers

From what I can tell, the americans did most of the beta work.
The Europeans are just assesing network capacity and demand before
an official release. So your'e not really being a beta tester, just an early adopter as far as I can make out

You get a Communicater, a years subscription which ends on March 14th 2004 and a install CD with 2 demos on it.

You have to go to the www.xbox.com/uk/ and try and sign up for the Test Drive program, but only a few people can get these packs so order early. If you dont get the Test Drive then you have to wait until March 14th.

What?

As long as you have a 512 min modem you can play...

You're gonna need to buy the pack though...
