I am getting a gamecube soon and want to know which games to buy first, so can everyone list the five best games out at the moment? And also if you buy a magazine which one?

1.timesplitters2 - the best mulliplayer.
2.resident evil - best for sleep-overs & with a wide-screen tv.
3.s mario sunshine - a classic right from the start.
4.XG/// - best racer.... great speeds (over 1000mph y'know)
5.tony hawks ps4 - i loved every tony hawk game and this is the best one.
& i think the best magazine is NGC.

It realy depends what type of games you like - for instance I have Star Wars which eneryone raves about but I really don't like it at all
Anyway - my top five games would be
1. Eternal Darkness
2. SSX Tricky
3. Mario Sunshine
4. Burnout
5. Extreme G 3
Mario Sunshine is good but only gets third place because the other two are something new and different to a Nintendo machine
Eternal Darkness is absolutely brilliant
Burnout is the best racer so far on the GC and I can't wait for Burnout 2
Magazines - I've tried them all and can't really recommend any
They are all biased in one way or another but then aren't we all - some like racers , others like football , others platformers etc.
I say Eternal Darkness is the greatest but not everyone would agree
Best thing would be to keep up to date with chat forums like this or try and find US gamesites like gamespot.com who not only do their own revies but also have readers reviews

Oh, and I buy Nintendo Official Magazine. If you pick up a copy this month, you'll get a buyer's guide, a DVD featuring loads of game footage, over fourty reviews, a huge news section and a back catalogue of all the GameCube's games - with many more features too.

It's got quite a lot of interesting stuff for potential buyers, and if you have any questions it might answer them (or you could just ask). Worth a look, anyway. Top five games then? Easy:
1. Super Mario Sunshine
2. Resident Evil
3. Super Smash Bros. Melee
4. Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2
5. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Alternatively, you could pick up one of the many third party titles (including Timesplitters 2 - a great FPS that's best on GameCube) that are very good too. Also, Starfox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet will be out this Friday (November 22nd) so you can expect that to go blasting into the top five.
