So who picked up their copy of PSI2 today with a region X CD on the front *looks around room* ME haha and it rocks, my TV does support it and I'll propably order a whole heap of import DVDs now. one question though region X claims to get rid of the green screen effect when using the RGB cable but I haven't seen it work yet. Is there an upgrade code or something cus I'm getting tired of switching cables :-(

any help would be appriciated :-)

I will be getting it later today and look forward to watching films nice and early on DVD.

As regards the 5 uses thing - we have discussed this before and like how could they do that - thay can't - if it uses a memory card just erase it - not too difficult to get around that is it ?

If you go to :http://www.dvdregionx.com/english/x_key_codes.htm
You will find a new set of codes for the Euro DVD version 2.10. I have a newer PS2 and it works ok after applying the codes.
Is the version with the mag a fully working version or does it only last for 5 uses?
May well buy it as a backup copy if it's the full version

It's ok I found the problem, Turns out it doesn't work with the V2 DVD driver so people with newer PS2's with the driver pre-installed better stay clear of this one. There's propably an update code or something to sort it out but for now i just have to take my second memory card out everytime I want to use it, oh well I had to change cable's everytime anyway :-)

Oops! Sorry. I've just realized, I've wrecked your thread Res€vilfan.

Anyway, my Region X (on AR2 V2) gets rid of the green screen. And they advertise that it is the full version of Region X they are giving away. I don't see how it could be a problem with any cables.

Try www.dvdregionx.com to see if they have any updates.

If not, Datel are just false advertising again.

This is what got me banned. I doubt I'll ever buy anything from Datel again

Posted by me:
I don't know about anyone else on this forum, bit I am very annoyed/disappointed about the decisions to do with MGS2 codes for Action Replay 2 V2.
When I paid my hard earned £30 for this accessory, I handed over my £30 thinking if I ever needed any codes, I would be able to get them easily and almost straight away from www.codejunkies.com. Had I not thought that, I would have saved my money.
Here I am about 3 months later, being told that to get the codes for MGS2, I will have to wait until that stupid magazine (which is a poor magazine anyway) is released and still have to pay £4. Or be forced to pay £9.99 just to get something to do what it is supposed to do!
I don't care if its not possible to make codes for the existing version of AR2V2. Deal with it! Most of the time, when upgrades are needed, they are free. Have you ever bought a car, been told it is highly dangerous and will not drive on certain roads, then take it to the dealer, only to be told you will need to pay more for this car to be upgraded to do what it is supposed to do? No! Why should this be any different?
If only my guarantee was still available. I would be straight back to the shops with my AR2V2. I am VERY disappointed with the service from these manufactuers. And just wanted to let you know. I hope something will be done (although I very much doubt it).
Your update should be free!
-----------------------
They replied. I said something to do with "On the back of the AR2 V2 box, it says 'Nothing is impossible with Action Replay 2 V2' Do you still stick by this sentance?"
-----------------------
They had a go at me, and said I took the quote out of context. I said:

MGS2 update is not optional if I bought AR2v2 for the main reason of playing that game when it was released. I also bought it for the DVD player, but you are giving that away for free.

I refuse to consider my AR2v2 incompatible with MGS2 just because I won’t pay an extra £10 for something you and the other workers probably knocked up in a couple of days.

So what does that quote mean then? (“Nothing is impossible with action replay 2 v2”) It says nothing is impossible, but clearly a lot of things are impossible. Such as playing MGS2 with cheats, without paying another 10 quid!

So you’re saying it costs you £10 to make and package a disk? I have one suggestion: change your supplier. Here at my house, with my CD-Writer, I can make a CD for less than £2 (with packaging). As for the cost of programming the game in the first place, you only edited the original code, its an update. When you buy a program from the web, or a PC program, you can go on the Internet and download the update for free. This means that they aren’t charging you for programming the update. So your update should be for the production only. much less than £10. Methinks you are trying to make profit at our expense.

Recently, Microsoft made a mess up with their Xboxs in Japan. They would scratch the disks. Microsoft recalled them. What do you think would have happened if Microsoft said, “yeah we can fix them, for only £20. Oh, you don’t have to buy the update. We aren’t forcing you. But if you don’t your Xbox will scratch all your disks. Not our fault. Honest.”

What stops me from thinking newer games won’t work unless I buy the update? I can see FFX now. Buy this update, only £10, not our fault, blah, blah, blah.
------------------

I admit, I was harsh on them at some points. But I used no bad language. I was getting very fustrated at some things they said, the moderator kept calling me stupid, and was simply ignoring my many points.

I got banned from the Datel newsgroups! I was arguing about how they shouldn't be charging £10 for an update disk for AR2 V2 to be able to use MGS2 codes, and to fix bugs.

I'll post the argument here if you want. I didn't spam, I had very good reasons in my arguments. Several people on the forums aggreed with me. But I got banned for stirring up trouble.

I hold a grudge now. SR wouldn't have banned me for that!
