Ok, so, some of you might not know much about Christian Vieri, and some of you might not know about him at all.... but that is only if you don't watch football.

Anyone that watches football, knows who Christian Vieri is, and they know what club he plays for, what country he plays for, and just how good he actually is. Let me just say that Christian Vieri is a world class player, that is an Italian and he plays for Inter Milan.

Vieri started off his proffesional career in football at Athletico Madrid, about 8 years ago, and was an amateur player back then, but in his second season at the club, he scored 27 goals in 27 games, which is quite a feat to accomplish. He was then scouted by Juventus. Juve took Vieri in in 1995/96, and he was a major player at the club, scoring many great goals, winning Juventus the League Tilte that year with his partnership with Alassandro Del Piero up front, and eventually he got a call-up to his national squad, Italy.

Viere continued to play well at Juventus, but, in 1998/99, Lazio bought him from Juve for a high fee of £21 million, which was a huge amount of money then, and it still is today. Vieri, however, didn't play as well at Lazio as he could of, and was bought away from them by Inter Milan for £32 million, which broke the World transfer record then, but that record has been broken now. Vieri still plays for Inter today, and plays for his national squad too, and he is great for both. Inter are lying in the top 3 of this Season's Serie A, and Vieri is their top scorer. He will also be called up for the national squad at this year's World Cup, and will be hoping to do his country proud, by getting them some glory, in a tournament they haven't won for quite a while now.

----

The reason I put the title of this topic as 'Football and Football Games' is because, Vieri plays really, really well in all football games I've got. In Champ Manager, I signed him in my season with Real Madrid, and I am sitting Top of the Spanish League due to his partnership with Fernando Morientes, and he has netted 27 goals in 31 games, and I'm not doing too badly in the Champions League either, as Vieri has a few more goals in that.

Pro Evolution have also made him possibly the best striker in their game. I bought him (in the Master League) for a season with Bayern Munich (yes, I like to go the big teams in football), and his partnership with Elber is winning my season after season. I think I'm on my 5th right now. When I play against him when I play Inter in a normal match, and also, in that he plays brilliantly against me, and that is the point I don't like him. :-)

Anyway, it's good to see that not only big footballing clubs can see a good player, and that games developers can too. I like that. :-)

Christian Vieri rules, just like me, ok? So all of you people that have told me I don't like football, or any players, shush!

Thanks for reading, Afro. :D

Yeah, Beckham is more of a set-peice and long ball guy, and Giggs can run the ball better than him. But Beckham still gets much more credit, when I feel that Giggs is better.

Beckham is apparently the second best player in the world, following Rivaldo, and honestly, I don't think he deserves that.

Yes, he is good, but not better than many players that could be mentioned.

I think that that's because they are 2 creative players, with a lot of confidence in themselves.

You could call van Nistelrooy a 'ball hog', and I must admit that he is! He trys to create goals for himself, when he quite often messes up. He should just stick to finnishing and free kicks!
Henry's a creative striker as he started as a winger, and Owen can also create chances due to his speed and pace.

Giggs is also a very creative player, as he can run at the defence and beat them - no problem!
And with his deadly crosses and long balls, Beckham can also be called a 'creator', but not for his running or ball control.

Gudjohnson and Hasslebaink are a great pair up front, but both of them are such hoggers, they don't pass much at all.

Nah, Elber wouldn't sign due to the rivalry in Europe between Bayern and United. There's no way the Germans would let their star player sign for one of their big European rivals!

And as for Kluivert, I agree that he wouldn't sign for us either, although he does apparently want to leave Barcelona and join the Premiership. He said he prefers Arsenal anyway. :(

Hasselbaink's a possibilty, if Chelsea's season turns out to be a c***-up.

Nice post AJ. I'm not too keen on footy, i used to be, but that doesn't matter.

So he's good in games and in real life, if you can call life real..... yeh you can :-D

I don't think Vieri would sign for Man U either, and nor would Kluivert.

Elber. Maybe... he is good too.

I'd love to see him sign for United this summer as the new no.9, along with Nesta and Hofland in defence!!
We'd be unstoppable next season in all competitions!!

But that's never gunna happen, as he's at Inter Milan, a club that won't let anyone go cheap, and wouldn't even consider letting him go!! :(

Still, I hope we get either Kluivert or Hasselbaink instead. But Vieri-van Nistelrooy would be ideal!

I don't know much about Vieiri's brother, maybe he could sign if he's good enough??

Oh yeah, right there, I was away finishing my season as Real Madrid, and overall in the season he got 27 in the league, and 11 in the Champions League, totalling 38, in about 45 games.

Great stuff!

I ruined the oppostion in the league too. Valencia came second, but they failed to win their last 7 games, and they still finished second.

:S
