Since registering my PSOne ages ago, and my PS2 when I got it last year, I have recieved so much funny advertising mail.
Some time ago I remember getting a Tomb Raider envelope filled with loads of letters, photos etc.
I also got a Syphon Filter mock spy kit, with a little piece of red plastic to read secret messages.
A couple of weeks ago I got a WRC necklace thing with info about the game inside.
Then today I get a blank birthday card. Hmmm, strange.
So I open the plastic wrapper, and inside are stickers with various apologies inside, with which to stick inside the card.
You are supposed to be so addicted to your PS2 games that you have ignored the special people in your life, so you send the apology card.
Very original.
Their TV adverts may suck, but in terms of their advertising junk mail, Sony rule.
> Evil.
And do you have any idea how much money we raise for charity every year? Millions. The Meningitus Trust ran short of superlatives for us last year.
There are actually very few things you can fault us with.
We own the AA - among the most highly rated services in the land
We own Halford garages
We own Goldfish
We supply Gas and electricity, not just in the UK, but also in Canada and the USA.
We rock, frankly.

Oh, I agree. British Gas standard payment terms for us to pay other people is 42 days. I've always said that the door should swing both ways. From what I understand though, the 10 days warning is just so that you are more likely to deal with it promptly, since the ordinary man will see a 42 day deadline and drop the bill in a pile only to forget about it.
Besides, you can pay your bill instantly online at www.house.co.uk so you don't really have an excuse.

Actually, we have some of the best call centres in the world for a corporation our size. And we're still making them eve better. Only last month we introduced a new database system at the cost of tens of millions of pounds which improves our customer focus. This time next year, a combination of SAP and Siebel technology will allow us to treat calls faster, more efficiently and with a process that cannot be described as anything short of world class.
For those of you who don't own any, now is the time to buy British Gas (or Centrica) shares. In two years time, they'll be mighty pricey.

I have a couple of questions then :D
1) When it says "return this bill with payment within ten days of the date shown on this letter" don`t you think its a little unfair if you receive it nine days after that date? It takes a day or two to get through the post in the other direction to, making it impossible to avoid late payment forms.
2) Wouldn`t the "helpline" people be better suited to a job more closely related to criminal execution or something else where delays, stalls and other diversions might actually be of some use?

They are evil. they conned the Ogre into signing up for their service for his Mum and Dads address by telling him that they needed his signature to proove they had interviewed him. When the Ogre said this isn't a contract is it, they lied to him and said no.
Evil.

You DO know I work for British Gas, don't you?

I recommend you never sign up for a bank account or any electricity/gas/telephone services. Once your name is down, forever will junk mail dominate your postbox.
