...being woken up at 1.15am by the fire alarm going off?

Evacuating the building for a quarter of an hour in the pouring rain whilst you wait for the 'OK' to go back in.

Then having to do the same thing TWICE IN HALF AN HOUR the next morning?

We've had three false alarms in a little over nine hours at the same halls of residence - yet there are only around forty people who live here. I'm not happy. That makes the seventh false alarm this term - four of which have been set of by the SAME BLOODY PERSON. How is that possible? How can anyone conceivably be that stupid, yet get to university?

This. Is. Ridiculous.

Interesting how people assume it's a guy setting off the alarm.

It is in fact a girl, and she's setting the alarm off not on purpose, but by sheer force of ignorance. The fire alarms in our halls are not your usual smoke alarms - they are sensetive to heat, as well as any form of cloudiness in the air. This includes smoke, dust, deodorant, and steam, amongst other things.

Twice she has set it off with the heat from her hairdryer, and twice with the steam from the shower when the door to the en-suite bathroom area has been left open.

She is, by my reckoning, one picnic short of a picnic.

Actually a strong wood glue would be more advisable, it will make less noise, so it will come as a surprise when it doesnt open.

Something like Unibond, or Locktite.

Or just nail the door shut.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
