If there was a jap - pal cube mod, there would be as good as a uk one. I expect the pikey nerds gave up on that one when datel announced freeloader though. Never know, they could start again.

Hmm, i wonder whether it'd be possible to replace bits of the Q's cube parts with pal cube bits and create a pal Q hybrid monster with the multi-region + pal dvd mod... and lazer eyes.

Don't think i'll be trying that one myself. Not this side of a lottery jackpot anyway.

IF I want one I will have to wait till next summer, and get a summer job. I might get one becase they look amazing, however it is a bit pricy and I do want a proper UK one. Which will never happen, or will it?

They did?

Hmm, purple, black, orange, platinum... either there's a special one on the way for the q or we could be seeing a new colour cube soon?

I figured there was a reasonable chance the unmodded one would play pal as well as ntsc dvds (couldn't find anything to suggest it wouldn't, and a couple of things implying it would...), and always planned on getting freeloader (and at the time expected it in august or something ¦^) ), so i bought an unmodded one for just under £300.

Unfortunately, it needed modding.

Fortunately i found a place, they did the dvd all region + pal mod for £70 (i think), the jap - jap+us games mod for £80, or both for £120. Went with both because the odds of getting freeloader any time soon were fading, and i wanted to import us games.
dvdchips.co.uk, if you're interested, but to be honest you'd probably do better getting one already modified, save yourself maybe £50 if you wanted both mods, it's quicker, and even if you don't want the us games mod, if it doesn't cost any more you might as well have it so you can start in us mode and get the menu in english.
