I spend the past half an hour writing a post about "uses for AOL trial discs" - I put little borders to seperate the different uses and when I clicked "post this message" it said that they were over 70 characters so I wasnt allowed them.

I clicked "go back" to alter them and my whole message had been erased, I am furious!

They would only repackage them and send them out again.

Imagine if everyone put return to sender on the discs the Royal mail wouldn't be able to cope.

back in my adolescent internet days, i was for a while, subject to the appealing promisis of AOL's free trial perod (i think it was 70 hour). Anyway, after the month of free-ness, i decided that AOL just wasnt for me, so as instructed, i rang them up and told them i would no longer like to recieve thier services. A month passed. I awoke one morn to find that their was something of importance in the post, something for me. To my surprise, it turned out to be AOL sending me a letter, telling me that i was ordered to cough up £20! After a good long while ringing them up and listening to rainbow connection for the umpteengh time, i decided to just give in and pay up. Oh i got my own back though, when the AOL advert came on the next time, i quickly drew a rectangular mustache on the AOL lady. THAT'LL TEACH YOU YA SNIDEY *****!

Still, you can always put your hot cups on the discs. Collect them for long enough, and you could own a set!

Always copy long texts to another software package until they have been sent.

Wasn't it on the news the other day that AOL had been forced to cut back on promotional discs by the Environmental health authority for excessive use of materials and the fact that there are so many landfill sites with thrown away AOL discs.

Mind you that is the best place for them, there service is a load or rubbish and the free trails are a rip-off what happens is they ask your details at the beginning and carry on charging you monthly after the trail period is up so you have to phone them and try to get it cancelled.
