Yet again rumours about Microsoft recalling all their Japanese Xbox’s are a complete lie- as are many of the stories surrounding it.

I have read one person in these forums say that MS have had 250,000 complaints about the Xbox scratching discs. In fact, they have had a massive…. 600. Yes, 600. Far, far less than the number of complaints Sony had with the PS2.

Not only this, but there will be no recall. People who ring up MS to say they have the problem will get a new console, but that’s all. No recall.

Finally, people seem to misunderstand the problem. It is NOT that the Xbox scratches the surfaces of DVDs and games. All the problem is that a few consoles scratch the edges of the discs…. Just the edge. The console does not do any actual damage to the information on the discs.

Ye, alot of sites seem to have twisted a few words. Interesting to see why Cube-europe (gamecube site) ran a story on this...They said Microsoft are recalling all X-box's as well, but then give a link to the actual story which says what you have just said...
