I have read one person in these forums say that MS have had 250,000 complaints about the Xbox scratching discs. In fact, they have had a massive…. 600. Yes, 600. Far, far less than the number of complaints Sony had with the PS2.
Not only this, but there will be no recall. People who ring up MS to say they have the problem will get a new console, but that’s all. No recall.
Finally, people seem to misunderstand the problem. It is NOT that the Xbox scratches the surfaces of DVDs and games. All the problem is that a few consoles scratch the edges of the discs…. Just the edge. The console does not do any actual damage to the information on the discs.

Which, unfortunately turns Xbox discs into dangerous weapons with their razor sharp edges, with which children are being encouraged to slaughter theri parents through the use of sublininal messages in games.
I read it on a Nintendo only site, so it must be true.

Actually, the original DC is very quiet usually- it had a liquid cooling system instead of a fan. A friend of mine even got one of these on import.
Unfortunately the next batch of DCs had a fan, and the loading sounds were unbearable!

It's better than a lot of Sony fans I know, they ignore or dismiss competition. (I'm reffering to people locally not online)

Well actually, the Dreamcast has a louder noise for loading parts of the CD, the PS2 has a louder fan.
