Music: Scary in some ways, when you defeat the first boss you have to get out of the space station before the time runs out, here you hear eerie world war type sirens and Sci-Fi beats, fast and very cool. 10/10
Controls: The first level tells you easily how to work the controls and from there it's a blessing, superb. 10/10
Levels: HUGE, but surprisignly the map helps you get around. I've come across all of the above and i'm only 11% complete, this game is massive!!! 10/10
Overall so far: This is not your average FPS, but it's superb, you really can't tell this game was nearly scrapped and in my opinion it's much better then any other FPS, including Time Splitters 2. I really can't pin point on why it's so good, but you really just can't stop playing. Even when you have to go back through the levels you come from it's no-where near boring and you'll enjoy blowng up bugs and not humans!!! 10/10
Any questions?? Ask me and I'LL TRY and answer them for you.....
That's the only word that springs to mind at the moment. Everything. The control-mechanics, the presentation, the sound, the game itself. It's all magnificent. It feels like a Metroid title.
Best GC title yet!!
Kudos to Retro Studios :)

WHAT??? The control-mechanics??????
Gahh! Fundamentally one of the most important things to get right! It's all wrong!
K, well it's ok, but there are some servear issues. The main one being that you CAN'T look up and down while moving! example;
You run into a room and there an ememy in the top corner of the room shooting you. You have to STOP, press R, look up at it, then press L if you want to auto target it. Where as in most other console FPS you could just run around press a button to look up while moving and then shoot the blighter. Not in MP tho! Fatal flaw!
(unless there's an option to allow you to change the controls properly is there?)
That's my only gripe about the game. Other than that, it's FANTASTIC!

Agreed :)
But at the risk of being pedantic, it isn't a First-Person Shooter is it really?
At first, I couldn't get used to not using the C-Stick, but after a short while, it all fell into place.

Metroid Prime is at the top end of the scale, and Armourines is at the bottom, like this
