One of my mates has just bought ADSL which is 3 times + faster than 56k and 2 times faster than broadband.
The down side is that it costs £30 per month so it works out to be £1 a day. And that there is only one company that are installing it so there is no competitive pricing. Also you have to have a seperate phone line installed and a upgrade on your modem which plugs into you old modem.
So he downloads at about 15kb/s instead of the 4 or 5 on 56k.

Can't you just ignore him/her/it?
SR-staff, feel free to delete "Ban-Me's" messages, and please don't allow people to reigster with "free webmail" email addresses. Keep current users using them on, but do something to block new registrations using them. That's what allows banned members, which I suspect that JAT is, from coming back!

Apparently BT Openworld at peak times is slower than 56K. It's not too hard to imagine.
Telewest are pretty non-existent up here in wherever I live. ;-)

Also does anybody have BT Openworld 56k dial up service. Because I was watching Watchdog a while ago and they were talking about BT slowing down the service for 56k dial up services to try to force people to pay more for Broadband. I have noticed something that sometimes it stops me from logging on to the internet and i try for about 10 mins but it still does not work.
Has anybody had the same problem or noticed anything?

Telewest are selling Broadband the cheapest at the moment so that normally means that they are doing badly and are trying to attract new users and if this stunt does not happen Telewest making huge losses. This is according to my knowledge of Business Studies and Economics at A Level standard.
