Being a teenager is a worrying time,
Being a teenager writing poetrys a crime,
Being a teenager you'd think I'd be glad,
Being a teenager to be honest I'm sad,
Being a teenager can get quiet tough,
Being a teenager your friends can be rough,
Being a teenager you want to fit in,
Being a teenager you can feel lifes kicked you in the shin,
Being a teenager is pretty hard,
Being a teenager

MJs guide to being a teenager:

Fitting in.

Fitting in is something thats very important when your a teenager. If you want friends you need to be part of a group really, it sounds stupid, but then again its the stupid truth. Being a teenager you find out a lot about yourself, your friends will make you who you become too. Depending on who you make friends with as a teenager it can effect the rest of your life. Get in with a bad crowd and you will always been seen in a bad light unless you can turn it around, get with people who share your interests, don't be pressured into doing things you don't want to either. Its not fair on you and you should life how YOU want to.

Peer Pressure.

SOmetime during your life someone will ask you to do something you don't want to. If you dont want to do, simply don't do it. Doing something that you don't feel is right can be a very bad mistake as it almost always isn't right. As I said above life your life how you want to.

Bullying.

Now this can be a very painful experience if its happening to you. Being bullied can be very disruptive for someone and it can affect them permanently. If your being bullied just try to avoid the people doing it. I know its not easy, but you've got to try. Giving up is the worst thing you can do. HOwever if its got a stage where you are just really worried about yourself talk to someone about it. Be it your parents or teachers, or maybe even older brothers and sisters, make sure someone knows about it. The worst part of being bullied can be feeling alone, stop this from happening by staying with your friends all the time, feel safe and comfortable with who your with at all times.

I know there is more to being a teenager than that, but I am going to leave it up to you to fill the gaps. What do you feel is the worst/best part of being a teenager. I have focused more on the negative parts due to not feeling to good about being at school right now, but maybe you can shine some light on the better parts and give me something to be gratefull for :/ Come on, cheer me up...

Hmm... wanting to 'fit in'... That's something I don't want to do. Fitting in is living up to what others expect of people in general or just you, and I would
prefer to be myself than fit in. Also being part of a group may be true, but you can just have friends too, without being 'in' any particular group.

I never realised I had a twin!! That's exactly just how I feel. It's like, playing football at school and how you communicate with one and another and when you go to dribble the ball past someone, they'll say things like "He's gonna pass it", so I don't. I'm not here to fit in. I'm here to be me. I'm not going to live up to what others think of me, but merely live up to what I want to.

Within my school, I don't feel I belong. I hang out with people I like, but often we have interests that are not at all alike. Probably 3 of my best mates are totally
different. One likes dancey type music and can be a bit of a psycho sometimes, one is always going out with girls who are a bit ... well, not all that nice. And the final one is into garage music (God help him) and is obsessed with cars. We all have very little in common, but just don't really fit into the groups at school, and get along. I do feel I belong, but not at school. I feel I belong in a group I have found with mutual love of the music I love, and that changed my life and me. And the more I see of this group, the more I like it.

Another thing that makes you like me. When we moved house just over a year ago now, you first fit in with the people you meet and then work your way up to make your real friends. After finally getting into year 10, this started to happen. I somehow managed to get myself in with the "nerds" of the year, but this was different. Previously, the nerds of the year were those with glasses and no friends; the people who did all their homework and extra work on top of that; the people who looked to the future and put school first. Oh, no. These were the people who you'd look at and pass off as idiots, but deep down inside, they were the most brilliant minded people you'd ever met - even if they were a bit weird, sometimes. Now, we do have things in common, even if I do find it hard to put my trust in them, I still call them friends.

Anyways, I was never one with computers, until I met them and since everything has changed. I'll admit this now and it's kinda sad to admit it, but I've made all new friends and met all new people and it's all because of a girl. I can't really be bothered to go into details, as not only does it sound stupid, but it's embarrassing just to think about it.

I'm not sure about all this 'you have to fit in, its the truth'

No one forces you to do anything, and if you do, then I have no respect for you

the most annoying part of being a teen is how you are an adult and child when it suits them.

Ah, a teenager- you pay adult fares on public transport now.

In cinemas, you get charged as an adult, yet they still won't let you in to see 18's...

You still can't get served for alcohol.

At 16 you're old enough to legally have sex, but aren't allowed to watch a porn movie...

so many of the age things are just totally screwed!
