You can also press and hold L2 and R2 whilst hanging there and Snake will do pull ups. The more of these he does the better his grip strength will become, allowing you to hang off railings for longer next time.

ALSO: If you press R1 or R2 during Codec conversations, you can hear Snake's private thoughts as well as the conversations.

you can press the action button to hang off the edge
and then move across it by pressing left and right direction
or the analogue buttons
however make sure you get up from there before you slip off
