Bit tricky to remember what was this year and what was last year, but:

FINAL FANTASY X

I vote FFX too, the game is class.I wrote an review on it, good points and bad points.

This might have been last year, but I like Quake 3 multiplayer as well, but then I've never played Timesplitters 2.

Going on the basis of what I've played most it would have to be

Stuntman or CMR3

or what about GT3 on Platinum ?

When was 'Ico' released? I think that's a contender for best game on any next-gen console EVER, lol.

FFX has had the most impact on me from a gamer's perspective, although Vice City has won the "best game of the year (through hype)" award.

I know my nomination for game of the year is going to seem odd, but as I haven't yet played games like GTA:Vice City or FFX, I can't choose them, so the best game I've played this year has to be LMA 2002. I love sports games and I felt that this game was by far the best management sim I've played in years.
