Captain Planet was atrociously bad… and not in a ‘Plan 9 From Outer space’ way, but a ‘Battlefield Earth’ way…

Although, I seem to remember it was one the last of those ‘cartoons of toys’ series… those being cartoons that were setup to advertise a toy range, (as opposed to toys of cartoon characters)…

I seem to remember there was a lot of Channel4 programs with animators complaining about the state of cartoons at the time too?

That Heart ring was as good as an onion ring for defending the Earth though! It had the power of "love"

What's "love" gonna do if there's a nuclear warhead about to explode?

Do you think that green hair dye came from a CFC spray because that would be hilarious if it did...

Captain Planet he's a hero going to take pollution down to
> zero.

I remember this for some reason. I also remembering not liking the show but for some reason owned a Captain Planet figurine who saved the world.

Captain Planet was a feeble attempt by government officials to raise awareness about the problems of pollution etc..

The fact he was a hippie who had green hair which was rather strange is probably what made it fail.

And this "Heart" ring seems rather strange.... Is it me or is this just being lazy and rearranging the letters in Earth? Lazy hippies...

I still remember the opening credits vaguely with Captain Planet shouting in a booming voice CAPPTAIN PLANET!!

He was simply the man. I feel he is responsible for the surge in rings as a fashion accessory for men. Long live the Captain.
