Yes i'm that Xbox loving fanboy you all know and love, but intrested in purchasing one of those great little cubes that play I must admit great games!
Now which one of you lovable little scamps will reccomend deals/games?
Been talking to Whitestripes on MSN, great guy by the way.
I need your help Nintys!
gamezfreak.
Super Mario Sunshine
Starfox Adventures
Resident Evil
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2
Mario Party 4
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Timesplitters 2
Loads more too (including Die Hard, Pikmin), but you don't want a long and boring list when you can just check my post :D. The above games are the ones that, at the moment, are must buys.
As for Doshin - don't disregard it, but do your homework. It got 6/10 in the official magazine, so make sure you know a lot about it before you buy.
> Doshin the Giant
Mixed reviews, I suggest you rent it or do some proper research on it - or else you'll love it or hate it, quite a risk for £34.99. It's original, and quirky with some nice touches though.
> Animal Crossing
Should be fantastic, but don't expect a release until March next year, apparently. It's basically and in depth, real life sim reminiscent of Harvest Moon (also planned as a GameCube release) and looks very fun. Strange graphics, mind.
> Super Mario Sunshine
Fantastic platformer. If you like the genre, then you'll love this. A top class game that's innovative and fun from start to finish and will take you ages to beat. Dangerously annoying in places, however.
> Timesplitters 2 - although the Xbox version seems to be more tempting,
> I prefer that controller for FPS games.
Even though the X-Box usually gets the better deal when it comes to third party games, Nintendo got the lions share on this one - as Free Radical Design confirmed it was best on the 'Cube. A great FPS, just don't expect the single player to rival Halo's.
> Burnout 2?
Out early next year, as Sony own the rights for six months. From what I've played on the PS2 though, it's very fast paced and great fun, with some nicely detailed cars and tracks.
> Super Smash Brothers Melee
One of my favourite games on the GameCube, and it's even better with mates. A superb beat 'em up that'll keep you going for ages in Adventure and Classic fighting modes - great fun.
> Any other games you can reccomend.
Cor.. loads! Check my 'Thinking Of Buying A GameCube?' post!
> Also the Wavebird looks appealing.
Indeed. I'll be getting one :D.
> Selling my GBA soon.
Ah well. Just bear in mind you'll be missing out the GC/GBA link-up facility. On a completely unrelated topic, what's your messenger address?
:D
> Claimed Resident Evil (good choice??) for the GC as its priced at
> £24.99 :)
Bloody, bloody good game. One of my favs on the Cube.
Oh and don't listen to Gerrid, he'll tell you otherwise. Probably cause the game's too difficult for him or something...
