"Tekken vs DOA"

Now that the platinum range has started I'm looking forward to expanding my colection of PS2 games The simple question is what do I get DOA2 or Tekken Tag? Tekken's just sheer class but I always like something new.

i chose tekken tag and it is quite boring once you've unlocked every character.
choose DOA2 because of the women and their costumes.

I owuld asy DOA2 is better than Tekken Tag. But when Tekken 4 comes out that will be better than DOA2 probably. So I'm waiting for that (T4)

I' a huge beat em up fan, so I'd have to get both. But if you only want one, then here's a summary:

Tekken Tag:
Lack luster intermittent tekken game that (and I quote the designer) was rushed out for launch... Tekken 4 is the actual sequal to Tekken 3, and is going pretty well. Tekken Tag is fun, but has few modes, and no real structure. But then again, if your not a hardcore fighting fan, then you probably won't mind- it's great as a mindless arcade hit-button game!

DOA:
In theory a great hardcore game. The "grab" button lets you catch peoples' fists in mid air and reverse them... but this soon becomes more of a guess than an act of skill. The moves are excellent, and there are brilliant combos. The modes match Tekken Tag, and this is a pure arcade game.

If I had to recommend one, it would have to be DOA2... maybe buying Tekken 4 when it comes out

Tekken is good, as there are normally alot of extras to uncover and more characters. DOA is also good, I cant wait for DOA3 only 8 days :)

Well, in my opinion DOA 2 is by far the better game. TTT is just nothing new over the last tekken games and is out classed by DOA 2 in most aspects.

Both games have really good graphics and both look the parts, but the game play on DOA 2 is a lot better with combos and lots of extra moves for you to find out. Both games have the tag modes so you are not missing out there. Also on DOA 2 there are lots of costumes for you to collect that should keep you busy..even with the dodgy story modes that are un clear.

But at £19:99, DOA 2 i feel is the better game.

I am presonally waiting for Virtua Fighter 4 because It just looks brilliant. If I was to choose one of the two you mentioned, Id probably get DOA. Despite me being a bit of a Tekken man myself, I have to admit it is a tad slow. But the sheer amount of characters on offer and the popularity of the series may lure many gamers...

DOA has a more hardcore approach to the genre, but Tekken is more of a challenge.

Personally, I prefer DOA because I like the fast-pace action and incredible moves. Tekken's too slow and not hardcore enough.

I had exactly the same dilema the other day, i even had both in my hands, but i decided to make my mind up fully and when i have i will order one of them from special reserve (i can get a reddy).

Can someone way up the pros and cons?
