I would like to understand if the majority of Xbox games will be released onto the PC? If so is is really worth purchasing an Xbox when I have a faster and more technological PC.

Not the majority - but titles like Halo, Halo 2, Deus Ex 2 will be one PC too. Halo will be on PC early next year, and Halo 2 some time after it's X-Box release. It's highly likely Deus Ex 2 will be released on PC on or before the X-Box release.
