It says on Play that The Getaway is released on the 30th March. It says on lots of other sites (including here) that the release date has yet to be confirmed.
Who is correct?
And does it actually look any good? I read lots of paragraphs in mags saying how amazing it will be but I have never actually seen a preview. The screenshots on Gamespot look amazing though. They look almost real!
It has an Audi TT though so it is bound to be fantastic. :-D

Think ill use my usual tactic..let you lot buy the game first when its out and see what you think before wasting my money. :D
PSM2 had expressed worries on the fact that "gameplay details are scarce". Remember "The Bouncer"? No gameplay details until as late as possible to disguise the fact that the gameplay was ... rubbish. I just hope the Getaway doesn`t go the same way.
However, for the amount of time its been in developement, you`d think it would have had time to get all the gameplay details sorted. It was announced right back at the PS2 launch, and mentioned in Issue 1 of most PS2 mags. After all this time, its gotta be good!

The game is currently set for a Christmas release in Europe, and a North American release, although officially unconfirmed, is highly likely. Developed by Team Soho, The Getaway tells the story of two characters. The first, Mark Hammond, is a former criminal who yearns to live a normal life, but when his son is kidnapped and his wife is murdered, he blames mob boss Charlie Jolson. On the opposite side of the law is the second character, Frank Carter, a suspended cop who wants to see Jolson in prison as well. yeh and then said State f emergency comes out on jan the 18th a month late again, hopefully the getaway is out in april

Away from the subject slightly, just read on another site that The Stuntman has been delayed from June/July to September 6th - reason, the World Cup !,
that is wrong,i checked on playstation.co.uk andit saidwe should be expecting it around april-may end of spring time
Dont really rely too much on Play for release dates...They once had Sonic advance as a January release. Even right up to the date they had put down...Sonic advance is actually released this week.
Could this be another game like GTA 3? Sneaks up on us with little knowledge and little hype and turns out to be a blindingly good game. All the previews from months ago said that it would be great....maybe its an idea to keep my GAD free for a bit longer.
