Market researchers forecast that Nintendo will sell 2.5 million Gamecube units in Europe by year-end. The same researchers also forecast that Microsoft will sell 1.5 million XBox units by year-end. This means the Gamecube is most likely outselling the XBox and is projected to continue doing so through the rest of the year.

No offence, but I didn't think Sunshine and Starfox were too good at all. Mario was fun for a few minutes, but then got thoroughly frustrating. Even more so when I found out it was too late to send it back. I didn't make that mistake with Starfox, which was promptly sent back.

YOU should care about sales figures!!!

Publishers decided if a game should be released on a certain console. They look at the installed user base for each console and decided which machine to release a game on. Thus the reason the PS2 get's LOADS of games. It's harder to program for, but more games are released for it, because more people have PS2s. So if more people have Gamecube's, and figures are publised about this, then publishers can be pursuaded more easily by developers to let them release their games on the Cube.

In short. Better sales figures, more Cube games for you and me!

That's why you should care!

Ditto.

But it depends if you are that devoted to the company.

I dont mind too much as long as Nintendo carry on delivering the games.

Metroid Prime, should, really kick the GC into the higher sales bands.

Like RM18, I'll be getting it, regardless.

For many people, Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda are something of a known quantity. I'm banking on Metroid Prime to be the killer app - like Goldeneye did for the N64, and Halo for the Xbox (well, to an extent), people will buy a GC just to play Metroid.

Well I'm going to get it.

Excellent stuff - I just couldn't stand it if Bill Gates' clunky black monster was ahead of the GameCube in overall sales, just because it wouldn't be right.

Nice to see that the GC is doing really well so far, and top games like Mario Sunshine, Starfox and Super Smash Brothers have helped it on it's way - and still with Zelda GC, Mario Kart GC and Metroid Prime to come, the future is looking very bright indeed for the GC.
