The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
It is more of a classification topic, unfortunately i have come to decide:
----
Just Arrived Today and Newbies-Unfortunately these people are in the term of 'Losers' New to the forums and nothing much to say apart from how much they love kissing there Atari's. They are pushed out of the way of Regulars and Notables because they are 'not Worthy' of being able to post good stuff. Even though some of them come and write about the X-Box and Gamecube, they write in a good way and include some good points they are rongly accused of spamming.
Yesterday i was looking at American Dogs 'spoof' of Tom Braider, it was excellent but Edgy Chipped in:
"Sadly, it happens to most newbies on here. Not because of their post quality, but because no one knows you around here or they think that you've posted something that's already been done before.
I like the multilanguage in your post though, and although I've seen the spoof-name "Tom Braider" before, I've not seen it in a topic like this before..."
In reply to:
"I'm not saying I'm the perfect poster, but I assume no one else has replied or read this cos I'm not well known here?"
Now this is kinda sad, as this topic he posted was excellent and should be read by all. Now Edgy was the only one to reply to this and the only reason he did was because of the title.
I think we should have a vote if Newbies should have the right to be 'respected'.
But NO...We can't because once we do this Regulars shall moan.
Regulars-These are the people with either a bit of respect or loads of respect. Kid Rock, a well known poster who has been number one in the top poster for ages.
Then there is Shaneo was a well known poster untill he was caught cheating. I am not one to judge but his respect from people is asbout as good as a newbie. Ever since he has admitted to cheating he has made a good impact on these forums. Providing us with up to date Notable Stats.
Then there is the peple who have been here just under a year, like me. We are not widely respected but we are happy with the forums. We like to talk about games and other stuff. But if anyone else is like me what really bugs me is that you try and make a big impact upon the forum to get some respect and it goes terribly wrong..No?
Notables-These people are the highly respected people, about the only one who is still here and posts regulary is Goatboy, he deserved to win the elections and has excellent posting techniques.
There is no such thing as a notable spammer, they are all good and have the power to ban. Sheepy is a well known poster in the forums and doesn't post topics but just replies. Then there is Sniper never seem him around, but when he posts it is very good.
I cannot write much about Notables as i have never been one.

Heres what i am trying to say, whats the point of classification??
Thanks Quazi...I think.
Anyfudge, I haven't copied for 4 months (since I signed up as Salevaa) and I intend to stay on the straight and narrow. Anyway, yes, some Newbies are unfairly treated. We weren't all blessed with good writing skills ye know!
Tony had humour - he made Sniper.

Bottom line: profit.
If profit

Naff

Good Poster
Excellent Poster
Sniper
and let judges award you your

Or you could just do away with them altogether, along with

True...very true.
Bottom line: profit.
If profit wasn't the bottom line you could change the classification to:
Naff Poster
Good Poster
Excellent Poster
Sniper
and let judges award you your title arbitrarily.
Or you could just do away with them altogether, along with the Top Posters table, because if there were no profit motive there would be no reason to encourage people to post more, they'd have to do it off their own backs.
