Played in Southend, 4 bands and we were headlining.

150 people through the door, and by the time we took the stage at 11pm, half had left because they only came to watch their mate's band play.
Now, here's a courtesy tip for gig-goers:
Don't leave half way through, it's rude and you paid so why not stay?

Or, if you do decide to leave, don't get moody when the guitarist of the headline band says "Thanks to everyone that came down and thanks to those that have hung around, it's always hard when it's a band you've never heard before.
And to those people filing out the door because your mate had finished playing? F--k you, you are doing nothing to support live music you f---ing posers. Go stand in nightclubs instead you f---ing morons."

And afterwards, loading the gear out, a bunch of monkey 14yr old decide to start being mouthy to a couple of people we were with.
Except these people are serious nasty and if you had any clue, you wouldn't say anything to them.
But, braindead Escort/Nova/Peugot drivers being as they are, they decided to try and yell stuff out.
And it went from there until 3 of these chimps decided it was a good idea to try and bottle some of us.

Long story short:
They're little boys and they got reminded just how big boys play.

*shakes head*

I hate every single person that thinks it's cool to drive up and down Southend sea-front in poxy, stupid little Novas with aerofoils on the back.
And I hate every single person that thinks it's cool to remove the back seats and put sub-woofers in so they can drive at 5mph.
And I hate any little kid that thinks you settle problems by trying to bottle someone.
I hate stupid 16-18yr boys in baseball caps and tracksuits that think they're tough when there's 10 of them and they've drank 4 pints and can't walk.
If you're one of these people?
Stay out of my way, stay out of my bands way and stay out of these two mates way.

Otherwise you end up broken.

Nice night of music spoilt by ignorant little boys that have no idea who someone is when they start abusing them because they can't handle their drink.
Be a nice little boy and stay indoors watching The Tweenies, because you do not belong outside with men.

Stupid, arrogant, aggressive little insects.

Still, on a brighter note, we played a new song tonight and it was excellent.

Cradle of Filth has to be the worst band ever.

You're kidding? Leamington? You should try Cheshunt on a Friday night! What a dump.

Leamington has some underage drinking, but no worse than anywhere else, the town center is just packed with students most of the time - hence the only real threat is to traffic cones. I hardly remember more than a couple of fights in the time I lived there. Actually, I loved Leamington. One day I'll return...

*sigh*

Well said. Most of them just scream their heads off. Look at Kitty and Cradle of Filth for two prime examples of that. I'd like to hear some decent female-rock bands some time.

Hear what you're saying, especially about staying for the rest of the bands. I sometimes manage to escape and go to battle of the bands gigs and other such events and it's always the same, you can tell the college bands that just get all their mates from the college to come in and vote for them.

The band we went for weren't the best, but they were a vast improvement over the ones who came in with all their posse and the lead singer who thought he was Kurt Cobain (but sounded more like Kurt may sound now, if you know what I mean). The best band had a female lead singer (not heard a good rock band with a female lead in ages) and we voted for them instead of the people we came for. Why? Because I believe in voting for the best band, simple. Wouldn't be fair otherwise.

Actually, sometimes i find that violence is the only answer. E.g. if you are being bullied, and the b***ard just won't give it a rest, then the only way to get him to respect you is to beat the **** out of him. ;-)

I went to a Charity gig in Rayleigh on Friday, Rayleigh is next to Southend. Where in Southend did you play Goatboy?

The gig I went to played many diffrent styles, some I didn't like and it was LONG, but I stayed and gave the all the guys (who were some of the best in Essex joined together) a big hand at the end. Throughly deserved.

Hope it all went ok for you Goatboy.

Even if I don't like something they are playing I still show support, I hate it when the band members look at you as they are playing and you just don't look liek your into it. if its the other way around its great. Must give them a nice feeling :-)

I come from the imagination.
and I am here straightly by your invocation.

I am the hottest thing, I am the twisting shout.
When you gotta sing, when you gotta let it out
You call me and I come a running, now we are hot again thats what its all about.

I know... what you feel goatboy.
