's pretty good. Surprised me. Leonardo di Camprio is also quite good.
Quite surprised actually. I enjoyed it a lot.
Anyone else got any views on this? I'm just sort of intrigued, really.
Scorsese's last couple of films have been pretty mediocre and Bringing Out the Dead was below average (When will people learn that since Raising Arizona Nic Cage's career has taken an irreversible nose dive?) And I'm not too sure about a 19th century gangster film, but please, please let it be a return to form. The unfortuate side effect of a Scorsese ressurection is that it will require Di Caprio, playing the film's main character, to be really good in the part. The prospect of one good role stretching out di Caprio's career any further is not a good thing.
di Caprio's involvement also means that there will be hordes of his fans in the cinema when I am there. They will cry when he gets hurt or dies and spend the whole time oohing and aahing. Does anyone remember Titanic, when part of the cinema would erupt into sobbing when Leonardo died?
ugh. What's wrong with using de Niro (again) Scorsese? Why did you have to pick di Caprio...
The film is ok and follows the story well.
But enough of this wild banter. Time for Toonstruck.
I was Montague, great name.
Play was okay I suppose but the original dialect was far too irritating sometimes.
"seen a good adaption of the play word for word"
That made sense when I wrote it.
But it's good fun, so why care?
