I saw an advert in Empire today for Romeo and Juilet Spec Ed. Hmm, I'd never seen it. So I went and got my sisters copy and settled down to watch it.

's pretty good. Surprised me. Leonardo di Camprio is also quite good.

Quite surprised actually. I enjoyed it a lot.

Anyone else got any views on this? I'm just sort of intrigued, really.

Mr Di Caprio is going to be in the new Scorsese film - Gangs of New York, which is a period ganster film. Like a period drama, except with guns, violence, murder, brutality, usual type of thing.

Scorsese's last couple of films have been pretty mediocre and Bringing Out the Dead was below average (When will people learn that since Raising Arizona Nic Cage's career has taken an irreversible nose dive?) And I'm not too sure about a 19th century gangster film, but please, please let it be a return to form. The unfortuate side effect of a Scorsese ressurection is that it will require Di Caprio, playing the film's main character, to be really good in the part. The prospect of one good role stretching out di Caprio's career any further is not a good thing.

di Caprio's involvement also means that there will be hordes of his fans in the cinema when I am there. They will cry when he gets hurt or dies and spend the whole time oohing and aahing. Does anyone remember Titanic, when part of the cinema would erupt into sobbing when Leonardo died?

ugh. What's wrong with using de Niro (again) Scorsese? Why did you have to pick di Caprio...

I had to do play in school to, I played mercutio and I ruled.

The film is ok and follows the story well.

Oh, how we laughed at the references to Nurse's bosom.

But enough of this wild banter. Time for Toonstruck.

Just finished play in school...

I was Montague, great name.

Play was okay I suppose but the original dialect was far too irritating sometimes.

That made sense when I wrote it.

I've read the play, seen a good adaption of the play word for word, but I enjoyed Baz's one more. Not really sure why... not just because of the updated themes... but the way it's set out. It IS Hollywoody, definitely in the style of music and the flow of scenes, and especially in the BOLD sort of any key event being shown so you KNOW it's a key event...

But it's good fun, so why care?
