people .... read what i say !! ive said at least 5 times on these forums.
Nintendo is big , it has many teams , many games programmers and designers. Some of those teams are small and some are big. The small ones make the small , short lived but good games, That fill up the release scedule and look like the gamecube has lots of games coming out for it.
Then we have the big teams , that are more experienced and have the likes of shigsy in them. These teams make the big epic games that we all love. These will come out further apart and be great for doing so.
Why are ninty doing this ? ... because in the past the have been critised for only releaseing a few games every year. And this new short and sweet thing is great !! it means more games for us , a fuller release scedule so your ps2 or xbox owning friends can't critise you for having no games on your console.
And if zelda and mario were going to be short and sweet then they would have been out by now , but no, they are still being developed , and have a over half a year maybe more time ahead of them before they are released.
So before anyone says any more about nintys short and sweet thing just read this .... PLEASE !
You're main reason for agreeing with Ninty's policy is that they have been critised for releasing very few N64 games. However, with the huge sipport for the GC, Nintendo do not need to worry about the console being undersupported- it won't happen this time.
Thus, they should have gone on with making epic games, with a few short ones stuck in.
In fact, Miyamoto has said that the reason for the short and sweet policy is that many casual gamers don't complete games. He said nothing about the number of game releases on the console.
This can only be a bad thing for the "hardcore" gamer. Although I'm certainly not going to avoid buying Zelda because it's shorter, it certainly disapoints me that it is. Simply, Zelda and Mario were made to be the huge, epic and revolutionary titles that set benchmarks in the industry.
Oh, and before you say that these 2 games will not follow a short and sweet policy, I have news for you. Miyamoto himself said that he would release a new Zelda or Mario game every 6 months- giving a development cycle of 1 year per game. Now tell me, how is a game that takes one year to make going to be anywhere near as revolutionary as a game that took 4 years to make (Zelda OOT)???
Sonic
PS: made to cause some sort of debate, and not just have everyone agree blindly with the topic.
But if all goes well, like predicted, Mario Sunshine should be here by the end of the year!
And Zelda will defintiley come next year at the earliest!
I honestly also don't see how people can still believe that Perfect Dark Zero won't reach is untill 2004!!
