I agree, the Xbox control pad sucks, and has anyone heard of their latest step in monopolising the console market? They're making smaller control pads (around the same size as PS2 and GC pads)- now thats a rip-off!

It has got to be the PS2 and here are some points why i didn't pick the others------Xbox HUGE HUGE control I mean not many people with small hands are going to get round that control (that was avery bad reason) emmmm well thats it for the Xbox.Gamecube------good console no complaint.Now why I chose the PS2-----the games kick good game makers it has Vice City i mean thats got to make anyone with a Gamecube wish that they had got a PS2 for there birthday but that dosn't apply toXbox they will probaly buy Rockstar up like they did with Rare. :-)
ps2 as gc is mainly for kids because of all the mario titles and xbox is just a huge, black, crap thing

errr... more accurately, you [people who say PS2/Xbox] are simply arrogant to the wider history of gaming. After all, not everyone who plays games has had the pleasure of growing up with Spectrums, and it can hardly be their fault.

As for the question, my answer would be the SNES. Apart from being the first console to really launch massmarket gaming ahead of the PS1, it also hosted the most original gaming age we've had so far.
Strong contenders are the PS1 for making 3D the industry standard and making gaming fully massmarket; the Dreamcast for its original games and internet out-of-the-box; the Gameboy for it's eternal role in the market.

What about all the people that have grown up or got into gaming around the time that PS1, N64 ect all ruled the earth? And never experienced the 16 bit times? Your telling me that whole Generation and mass of people are idiots? I dont think so.

What utter crap. Would love to see you try to complete Secret of Mana or Mario World or Mario Kart (on all cc's) and Zelda etc.. in under two hours at a time for each.
