It's not just me, is it?

There are others out there who spend a few miniutes composing a post, only to think better of it, to decide uopn reflection that perhaps it wouldn't go down that well after all. Perhaps it was to rude, to tasteless, or whatever.

At least, I assume that there are still people around who think before post...

I know I've done it many times. I've written out a topic or a reply, only to think "Sod it, nobody here is on the right wavelength to 'get' that."

Now... I'm not sure what I'm expecting you all to say if you reply to this topic, but just think carefully before you do. Let the inspiration flow. ;)

I agree with Your Honour. I read most topics that come up on here and most of them I can't reply to.

Hmmm...I guess maybe that's it.

On a serious note, I suspect what happens with your serious posts Goaty, is that people read and enjoy, but then don't really know how to reply. So they don't.

They still read and enjoyed it, but either because they have nothing to add, or don't know enough about the topic, feel they can't add anthing.

I post crap and it gets flooded with replies (smash wiv fase etc), I post something genuine and somewhat serious and it sinks with 4-5 replies.

Whether this is because people ignore serious posts in case that attracts GAD attention, or that my serious writing sucks.

Whatever, but the response I get is why I tend to veer towards inanity.
Well, that and you can understand my gimp posts.

Erm, nope...I just post whatever comes into my head. Which, unfortuantely is usually nothing...

I'm terrible at this. The amount of posts/topics that I could have posted and yet, I couldn't bring myself to press that button. And that feeling when you press the button and then feel you shouldn't, it's a horrible feeling.

Yep.

Done that plenty of times, written out a nice paragraph or two then thought better of it.

I've started quite a few posts in Word that I've never used or finished. If it don't meet a certain standard (set by my ego) then I don't post it.

This one must have got through though.

If it weren't for the time on your post, I'd swear you spend hours rephrasing that one...
