You could try DVD Region X, but I'm not sure it would work - if you know anyone with it, borrow it first.
I've never actually seen MacroVision 'in action', so I don't know for sure how it affects playback - but I was under the impression that it just put dark lines all over the picture, rendering a copy of the film unwatchable.
YH - if if is indeed MacroVision protection that ash_davie2k is experiencing, then you may well have the same problem. Your DC will not have the same problem, even with an RGB cable, simply because it does not play DVD's and therefore has no MacroVision protection system.
However, if I buy a proper SCART lead for my PS2, will I have the green screen problems? If so, will it go if I get DVD Region X thing?
If you are using a combi vcr/tv you will not be able to avoid it, the only thing you can do is get a new tv that does not have a built in vcr.
If you seaarch the NET there are codes that can be put into most DVD players, including the PS2 that disable macro vision. I have seen a code for the PS2 somewhere a long time ago but cannot remeber where. Sorry!

If you tried it on another TV and it was fine, then there's not likely to be a problem with your PS2. You need to provide more information.
When you say that you use the SCART connector, do you mean the lead supplied with the PS2 and the SCART adapter, or a true RGB SCART lead?
When you tried it on the other TV, did you use the same cable, or a different one?
Some TV/Video combination TV's don't support true RGB SCART input, so if you are using a proper SCART lead that could be the problem.
Post again, giving as much detail as possible, including the leads used (brand name if possible) and TV brand.
