My NTL cable modem is a Terayon 210.

On the back it has a 10 Base-T ethernet port and USB port.
I use the USB port for my PC.
So if I was to buy an ethernet cable then could I connect my modem to the X-Box through that?

I dont think you could. You could however unplug the USB port from the PC and then plug in the Ethernet Cable into the XBox, but this would mean that you wouldnt be able to use the internet on the PC. It may work using both ports on the modem, but usually modems only use one port at a time. Try it first and then you could easily use the other method above. If you need to use the PC at the same time as the XBox, and the modem doesnt allow the XBox and PC to be connected at the same time. Then buy a network card(only £10-15) and then install that into your PC. Then when you connect your USB modem to your PC, you also plug the XBox into the network card. This allows people to use the PC and use the XBox at the same time. This is how I have mine set up. The only down side is that you do need your PC on all the time when on XBox Live.

Buy the kit and try the method of connecting XBox to the ethernet port and the PC to the USB port. If it doesnt work do the direct connection and if that doesnt work get a network card.
