The N64 went out fighting.
It has many great games to bury with it such as Legend Of Zelda OoT, Goldeneye, Conkers Bad fur day Perfect Dark and many many more.
The N64 will be remembered by many happy Ninty's as a classic console.
Ok so the graphics aren't that great compared to today's consoles but in its time there was nothing else like it.
It had me gobsmacked when I first got my N64, which was about 2 years or so after its launch.
I think that the best game on the N64 was Zelda OoT In Fact it is quite arguably the best video game ever.
Zelda OoT was a great game.
The two main objectives in the game are to find all the spiritual stones and Defeat the evil GannonDork…*Cough* sorry I meant GannonDorf.
The great thing about OoT was that you could go wherever you wanted at any time.
I think the closest game that could describe OoT would be Halo.
Although Halo isn't even a N64 game it is if you like Zelda OoT's cousin.
You can do almost exactly the same things in Halo as you can in OoT.
You Can roam around the whole game, just like you can in OoT.
Well Ok it may not be OoT's cousin but it's OoT's closest thing to family.
A better way to describe it would be that Halo and OoT are in the same family of RPG's
All consoles have the same thing in common though.
They are all designed mainly in the far east, with the exception of perhaps one or two different consoles..
The Far East has brought us a whole range of consoles from the wonderful to the absolutely bizarre.
Remember that weird triangle shaped console?
That's a fine example. The console was triangular shaped and even the controllers were triangle shaped, thank god the graphics weren't triangular shaped or that really would have been weird, not to mention a pain in the but.
You may wonder why the Far East gets earlier release dates than we do.
Well it's mainly because they made the consoles in the first place.
They also have a different operating system from us. We have PAL and they have another one I'm not quite sure what it is though.
PAL runs at a faster speed than there operating system and that's all I know.
You'll also notice that on the back of your PS2 or whatever you have that it says made in china, Honkong or Taiwan
Although shigsy himself is from Japan he stays down in London at the moment as far as I've heard.
From there he rubs his chin thinking up his next master plan.
He's given us a few gooduns to like SuperMario World 64 and of course the classic Zelda Ocarina of Time
Shigsy is sure good at making and designing games.
He brought us Mario Luigi and chums and he also Brought Link and many more great characters.
All sorts of cute characters have popped up over the years such as Yoshi…er the new Link make Over (Will appear in the latest Zelda Game Due out for the GameCube) and not forgetting Kirby.
All these cute characters were created by the gaming genius Shigsy Miyamato.
So let's raise a glass to the gaming Legend Shigsy Miyamato.
May he bring us many more great games and cute characters.
Here's to the future.

Not quite up to your usual standards but good enough. True what you said about consoles just dying out withoutmuch recognition from the world. An original post.
;-)
PS. Are you from Glasgow? Because I've noticed you support Rangers. :D
I'm in a rather Lazy mood today seeing as it's only Monday.
I have also been working hard at college!
