Well, the lowest Halo could be given was 9/10 anyway. As for MGS2's poor score I'll have to wait till I complete it to comment.

Anyway, the last paragraph was not aimed to you wookie, but was trying to get us back on track with the topic!

Nope, this is based on the Edge review and what I've read elsewhere.

Similar things were said of Deus Ex, which was a fantastic game, but hardly revolutionary. In my book, intricate plot twists, control tweaks and a modified game structure happen from one FPS to the next - none of them justify the label "revolutionary".

It may well be worth a 10/10 for being such a fantastic game, but not - in my opinion - under the guidelines that Edge themselves have laid down.

I agree, and I'm not judging one against the other - I'm simply commenting on your earlier statement:

> You see, by edge standards for a game to get 10/1- it has to be near
> perfect- not just a must have, but also pure revolution.

I can only pass judgement on what I know, and what I know leads me to believe that Halo is exceptionally good, but not revolutionary.

Compared to *all* that has gone before in terms of games, I would rate MGS2 as simply "well above average". However, as a self-contained entity - taking the the MGS2 package purely on its own merits - it is for me a definite 10/10. I'd apply the same logic to Halo - it IS a 10/10 game, but not according to Edge's own rules.

Wookie, have you actually played throughg the whole of Halo to say that it is more evolution than revolution.

Because, as the Edge review says for the first 2 paragraphs, every other level introduces new intricate twists in the plot, new ways of controlling the action and revolutionary game structuring ideas. However, Edge refused to say anything about these because it'd be too much of a spoiler.

Now, I'll admit that I haven't played the game from start to send. But if most of the reviews I've read say that this aspect of the game is revolutionary, and the multiplayer, weapon balance, level structure and the rest are perfect, then it's definately worth a 10/10.

However, this has NOTHING to do with which game is "better". After all, this question is completely SUBJECTIVE- it is dependant on what you like, and not some scientific rating system. Seeing as only about 2 people in the forums have played both games completely, they are the only people who can judge this.

Wha-?

Despite them being in diifferent persons, Halo's empahsis is on guns, shooting and killing, MGS2's emphasis is on silence, stealth and cunning. You're actually rewarded for not firing a shot. Hell, they're not even the same genres!

How can you say which is better? They are both amazing games, but totally different, theres no way you can compare them.
