I'm bored and wanted to know a little more about Metal Gear Solid 2 and what happens, as I won't have the pleasure of playing it on my non-existent PS2. Don't read below unless you wanna know what happens throughout the game.

You begin at a landing point, controlling Snake. You have to kill a few guards and enter Deck A: the Crew Quarters.

When inside, you can actually un-wet yourself by pressing X, which sounds quite impressive. When you go to the locker room, there is a picture of a scantily-clad bikini babe in one. You then entire the Crew Lounge.

You have to kill some guards in here, and pick up a stun grenade, before moving onto the Deck B, where there are more Crew Quarters.

You have to go through various nooks and crannies, before finding Deck C, the Crew Quarters yet again!

You have to avoid the first surveillance camera of the game and grab a ration. We move onto Deck D, which features more Crew Quarters.

This area allows you to a lot of exploration, and after avoiding some beams, which could blow up the entire ship, you can find a Cardboard Box, which the first MGS was so infamous for. After avoiding another camera, you move onto the Bridge.

There are some marine corpses scattered around and Snake contacts Otacon via codec. After the conversation, you spot a woman on the far left of the ship - she is the first boss: Olga Gurlukovich.

After defeating her, she falls asleep, and you take a few items from her body. A Cypher arrives (whatever the hell they are), watches Snake for a few seconds and then leaves. You'll briefly gas with Otacon before climbing a ladder and collecting Night Vision Goggles. You then advance to the Engine Room - Starboard...

I'll post the next part when I've finished tallying up more Notable votes. So, thanks for reading, and I hope I helped you get the general gist/interest you in the game. So far, it sounds pretty good, but nothing like the PS1 version of MGS.

I guess he's impatient. Like a child. He must be taught, like a child.

Please, go away. You aren't doing yourself any good. And, I am still not answering your question until you ask properly.

Here are spoilers, up to the third boss. There are heavy spoilers in here, so don't read if you don't want to know.

We begin in Hold #1 and Snake contacts Otacon and tells him the situation. After heading down a ladder, you must be careful not to bump into any marines, or you'll be peppered with about 70 bullets from 10s of marines. We then go to Hold #2.

Here, Marines are looking in all directions, so you must be careful. You can dose them, putting them to sleep if you so wish. Either way, you have to cross the blocked bridge, and the only way of doing that is to go past the silver pump, which is protected by three guards. A little nap should take care of them, and you can move onto Hold #3.

We finally see Metal Gear Ray (MGR) in person, and the General is there. You must take four pictures: three perspective shots of MGR and one of a Marine's badge. If you've done it right, Otacon will accept them and Revolver Ocelot will emerge, stating that he's taking MGR. The marines aim their guns, and Sergei Gurlokovich and takes the Colonel. You will have to wait and see what your ending cinema is at the end of the game.

It's two years later and you're in control of Raiden, a Foxhound member himself. You're back at the Landing Point of the plant. After contacting Campbell, you can explore a little, spotting something, something familiar by their clothes. There are guards on the floor, and you have to activate your radar. The guards begin waking up, and you quickly run into an elevator, as Colonel briefs you on your mission. The terrorists, named Sons of Liberty, have taken over the plant. Their leader is Solid Snake! We go onto Strut A-Roof.

Raiden will finally remove his mask and we will meet Rose, who is Foxhound's data analyst and Raiden's girlfriend. She is nothing like Mei-Ling, with no knowledge of Japan, and has a man named Jack to aid her. Raiden dislikes the idea, but it's the Colonel's choice. We crawl through an opening to the Strut A-Pump Room.

Raiden will spot a guard and because you're un-armed, you have to sneak past him to the AB Connecting Room.

You will spot two guards protecting the bridge, and Colonel suggests that you use hanging mode, and climb the ceiling over them. When they’re not looking, you climb down and into Strut B-Transformer Room.

You’ll see several dead guards in here, killed ala Ninja, but you’ll discover it isn’t Ninja, as you go into the next room. A guard is impaled through the head with a knife and another is killed. The remaining soldier shoots bullets, but they deflect off his sword. The man reveals himself to be Vamp, a merciless killer. Vamp slices the neck, waist and hands in two, before we meet Pliskin, a man who is very similar to Solid Snake and even has David Hayter performing his voice! He’ll give you a SOCOM and his codec number, before you depart.

As you arrive in the bridge, you’ll notice that you’ve burst in on the middle of a gunfight. Soldiers are shooting Fortune – a woman who is lucky in war and in nothing else. She grabs her railgun and blasts the soldiers to hell, before leaving. You cross the bridge to Strut C-Dining Hall.

In the toilets are some goodies, and some of the doors will be blocked, one by Pete Stillman, who will talk to you. He is a bomb professional, but Pliskin comes and Stillman talks to him. They talk about Otacon, and he shows you how to defuse a C4, gives you a Coolant Spray and Sensor A. There is a C4 in the women’s bathroom, which is a good tutorial as to how to defuse them. After freezing it with the coolant spray, you move onto the CD-Connecting Bridge.

We cross the bridge onto the Strut D-Sediment Pool.

There is C4 dotted around the room (as your radar will notice) and you have to cool it off. You have to backtrack up the stairs and go to DE Connecting Bridge.

We cross the bridge onto Strut E-Parcel Room.

There are two sentries, which are easily avoidable, as you move into Strut E-Heliport.

Raiden will spot Olga, and Jack shouts, “Freeze!” Olga feels scared that a kid (Raiden) wants to beat her, and that Snake is the only person to ever beat her, and so she runs off. Raiden contacts Pliskin and finds out more about Olga. You have to crawl into a vent, freeze some C4 and contact Stillman, who thinks that this is a trap. You have to head back to the Strut B-Transformer Room and freeze a strategically hidden C4. We then go back to the Strut A-Pump Room.

After freezing yet another C4, you have to go through another door, where there are a guard and a camera. You can snap his neck or dose him, go up a set of stairs and crawl through the openings. After some more openings, freeze the C4 and Raiden will call Stillman. Stillman claims that he never crippled his leg, and is heading towards Strut H in Shell 2 of the plant. Go to Strut-C Dining Hall.

Go to where Stillman hid and you’ll find Sensor B, which makes the game a lot easier. Then go to Strut F-Warehouse. If you took the AF Connecting Bridge, you’ll be upstairs. Explore upstairs with a Level 1 Keycard. Downstairs, there is a Cardboard Box and Mine Detector. On the other side in a duct, you can get a SOCOM Suppressor and ammo. Head upstairs, stand around the box area and use-hanging mode to fall into the C4 room. Freeze it and listen to Stillman.

When you get to the bridge, Stillman calls you, but Pliskin intervenes and freezes the last C4. He informs you that because you’ve frozen all the C4’s, a bigger C4 has been activated, and you have to make sure that it doesn’t explode. Go to Strut A-Roof and take the elevator down, as you’re going down, Stillman calls you and says that Fatman got his number and that the building is gonna explode. Raiden arrives at the Landing Point and you freeze the C4, just in time. Someone arrives – it is Fortune. She goes on about her misery and how she is that you’re not Snake, before pointing a gun to your head.

After the scene, Vamp arrives and when Raiden shoots Fortune, the bullet it deflected into Vamp’s head – he is dead. Raiden gets in the elevator and goes up. Vamp pulls himself up – he is alive!
