when i buy xbox magazines i like to read the reviews that different games have been given.
often when i look at the number of marks out 10 given i compare to the special reserve customers marks out of ten.
Alot of the time the games score completely differently.
so which ones am i supposed to believe?
Thanx

really I know they have had sr ads at times.
Isnt that the magazine that got sent out with a SR magazine a couple of times?

How many staff reviews say that a game is utter toss?

1) Edge is trying every moment of its life to be "cool".
2) It isn't.
3) Edge were wrong about Splinter Cell. Whilst it has faults, it betters MGS simply be making stealth a near essential. Edge's whining about targeting is rubbish. Anyone who is any good at MGS knows that stealth is only any use for quick completion times. Once Snake, or Raiden, are tooled up you can dispense with stealth and shoot your way through. Splinter Cell also relies less on cut scenes, and the plot is far better for it, and the whole feeling of Splinter Cell is far more closely to what we imagine it would be like doing that kind of thing. Sure. MGS2 is good, and I look forward to Substance, but I think MGS 3 will need to be something special now.

Oh aren't you the clever one? Yes, I have played Splinter Cell (for about two hours) and yes, I have completed Metal Gear Solid 2 (all diff. levels, all dog tags). I think I'm in a good place to have an opinion, don't you think? After actually READING Edge's review, rather than look at the score, I can now say it's quite justified.
Perhaps 7/10 was the right score after all. Edge are a games magazine people, they're impartial and are, by no means, 'trying to be cool'.
