Sony have seen fit to release Gran Turismo Next, formerly known as Gran Turismo Concept, in Europe. GTN is a stripped down version of GT3, featuring just the arcade mode of the game, plus all-new concept cars and spanking new models hot off the production line. The game features such
bizarre vehicles as the Sony/Toyota Pod Car, which changes colour depending on your mood. Mental as anything."
Who do they think they are? I mean, GT3 was bad enough - that was just GT2 with extra things. This is a downgrade on GT3! OK, it has a few more cars - thats the sort of thing you'd expect to download a free add-on for on a PC game. But no, sony have the cheek to release GT3 with bits TAKEN OUT!
does anyone else think this is ludicrous, or is it just me?

Come on, i'm not a ninty sworn to hate all that is sony! You have to admit, a scaled down GT3 with a few extra cars, and a few less modes, has to be classed as an add-on - its not even a sequel - its got LESS than its predecessor!
And yes, i'm sure any Nintendo fan who has any intelect will be pretty fed up with pokemon and Mario - on the other hand, any Sony fan who has any intelect will be fed up with the counless sequels by them - it works both ways!

So many? I count three - and the latest is the first on PS2, and the first to graphically do the game the real justice it deserves! I'm as fed up with them as Nintendo fans are fed up with Mario's, Zelda's and Pokemon's!

How do you work that out? It's not an add-on, it's a stand-alone product.

That applies to any series of games, though - not just GT3.
It's basically for the big GT enthusiasts. It's not a cash-in, it's released due to public demand. If you don't want it, don't buy it - no-one has a gun to your head.
But surely you are fed up with so many GT games? If its only for the GT fans/cretins then thats OK, but £20 is a bit steep for a few extra cars.
Mind you, until the Hard drive is available, an add-on disk would not be in Sony's best interest.
But I suppose if you are one of these crack-pots that likes playing GT game after GT game, then its a really good buy.
GT Next is GT Concept - the version made especially for the Tokyo Motor Show last year. It was a cut down version so that people could 'drive' the concept cars on display.
There was a large public demand for it in Japan, so they released it at a reduced price.
Then there was demand for it here, so they're releasing it here for around £20.
