it opens up in a lovely new window, which automatically centers itself on the screen- Magic!

I have tried messing about with the source code and can't get it to work on a new page. Help?

Yes, although you may be missing some parts of it that don't seem relevant. Copy ALL the JS you can see and weevel out the useless bits later.

I could never take the place of the almighty Andy, Im just a poor designer trying to pay my mortgage...

p.s. hes probably not here as he has recently discovered counter-strike...

anyway, in theory i should be able to copy the source from that page and put it in a new one, change it a bit and it should work - right?

If you right click on the first page, and do View Source, then you'll see a Javascript function "OpenWindow", which works out the width/height, divides by two and all that, and then writes to the window dynamically.
Simple stuff, but effective.

Hum.

It probably uses JS to get the size of the screen, then halves x and y and sets it as the geometry for the new window. Sorry, I can't ...find... my JS reference right now, but it's easy to get one and figure out how to do it. JS is very easy once you know the basics.

Hmm. Darkus, fancy taking over Andrew's job? We haven't seen him in years round here.
