I really bought my DC for the hell of it but now 3 new consoles are about to released all inside of 2 years ahhhhh!
I am a video game madman and I cant watch the price tags on these babies £299! The most Im looking forward to is the PSX2 with MGS2,GT200,Tekken Tag,the final RE,the sequel to Silent Hill and a Fireworks game?
Buy PSX2 it will be just as good as the rest and better and by the way what games are on the X box?

Right Richt Ill take this one-
X box,PSX2 or Gamecube- Id say wait until next Christmas to get any of them, youll see how good the PS2 is by then and both Gamecube and XBox will be out, so make up your own mind then. If you want to know my opinion, Id say its a tie between XBox and PS2, with Gamecube VERY close behind, there's nothing really between them.
Also does anyone know where you can get a PSX2 a little cheaper than £300- you cant. PS2's, as you know are already, on pre-order for £300, and unless you get a dodgy import, you wont get it for less until late next year.

storyline to Silent Hill 2- basically a bloke ends up in Silent Hill(I cant remember the guys name) and gets a letter from his wife whos been dead for the past 3 years. he finds a woman, who looks almost identical to her, and it goes on from there basically. It is in the same town as in the first game.

what the hell do you do on that Firework game- Right ive played this so I can tell yo- you "burst" different coloured firsworks in chains to get points, and the more you burst in a sequence the more points you get. Its more complicated than that, but thats basically what it is. Believe me it is frantic button bashing and quick thinking.

Fantasymeister, youre being very narrow minded. you have to remember that when the N64 came out, it had better hardware than anything else that was currently on the market and that turned out to be a flop. Also, I think it will be over Sony's dead body that microsoft ever strikes a deal with Squaresoft, because it took Sony two years to prise them from Nintendo remember. I dont think theyll give Square up without a fight. By the way Gamecube will come out last, it will be PS2 this year, and Xbox and Gamecube late next year. I do know the specs for XBox and they are impressive, but I think you should give the PS2 a chance, it seems that you are writing it off straight away, as well as Nintendo's chances, even before the PS2 has come out. Remember, MGS2 is a PS2 exclusive...

But Damo, I appreciate you point, however, the specifications of the X-Box are about twice as good as my PC at the present. (See either my posting below, X-Box vs My PC, or visit www.xbox.com and check the specifications for yourself.) They are pretty amazing and there is nothing on the market at present or in the next 3 to 4 years console-wise that gets anywhere near it. So, for now I will probably get PS2, possibly the Gamecube as well, but as soon as X-Box comes out, by which time I hope Square will have signed a deal with Microsoft to produce games for it, then the PS2 and the Gamecube will probably go in part-exchange straight away.

FantasyMeister, I salute you for keeping up to date with the X-Box situation, but you have to realise that I have looked at that list also and I feel there are two main inclusions to the list that need to be mentioned- these are Namco, who will almost certainly convert the Tekken licence to X-Box and Konami, with obviously Silent Hill 2(MGS2 is going to be PS2 exclusive). The two developers that were not on that list were Ea with practically every sports licence you can think of(FIFA being the obvious one) and Squaresoft= put simply no Final Fantasy= no good RPG's(Shenmue is the only good RPG that hasnt come from the Square stable in the past few years, and it isnt out over here yet!). Id wait until mid or late 2002 to see what the situation is with PS2, X-Box and Gamecube to see which one is worth buying- unless you are committed to buying one particular machine, then thats your preference.

No no no, I'm the bloke who pied Bill Gates.
Actually, I read a funny true story the other day about him.
When Windows 98 was shown to the public, Bill himself stepped out from his luxuary living toilet, and showed it to the world. He started off by showing off the USB functions and plug and play. He put a scanner into a computer running Windows 98, in front of hundrads of press and spectators, and the computer crashed. Bill, shocked to see his Windows not working properly, said "Thats probably why we haven't released it yet."
A sign of things to come?
