Xbox have got games like Abe's Oddyssey and Project Gotham, when Gamecube have got Luigi's Mansion and Star Wars:Rouge Leader. Does anyone else agree?
> Think you got your dreamcast launch titles a bit mixed up mate.
Just abit.
Sonic, sega rally, ready 2 rumble boxing, blue stinger, tokyo highway racing (something like that), virtua fighter 3 and power stone.
Thats one of the main reasons why X-Box has been so hyped because of its amazing launch! And excellent games.
Dead Or alive 3 - looks amazing and plays just aswell!
Project Gotham racing - looks twice as good as GT!
Halo - nuff said!!!! Genius!
WWF RAW - wont likely make a release lanuch but very near it!
Blood Wake - Water effects totally beat PS2's attempt! Really addictive
Amped - looks amazing! Snow and clothing effects look super. There is no fade in or pop up. The ladnscape is incredible. 200 sound tracks!
Munches Oddessy - That not only looks great but is a classic! Exclusive to X-Box, thats is a damn good game.
To be honest I think these launch titles ahev to be some of the best seen! I mean lets looks at other release titles for other consoles:
GBA - super mario advance, F-Zero X, and 3 other racing games! not impressive at all! Good launch titles would haev been doom, mario kart, Sonic Advance
Dreamcast - blue stinger, chu chu rocket, worms armageddon, MArvel vs Capcom..... Dreamcast had a very poor launch
PS2 - GT (bit of a let down.. but not bad), timesplitters, wild wild racing, ridge racer V, Fantavision, midnight club - that is quite a poor launch.. none of those makes me excited!
Gamecube - luigis mansion (looks good...however nothign big to look forward to), Star Wars!!!!! come on! - it looks good but controls are dodgy and very repatitive! super moneky ball - looks realy really fun, i actually think that looks good but i have heard controls are again a bit dodgy.
Ok, ok, im not sayign that all the other console titles are rubbish, they are good...... but to say X-Box launch titles are poor, is a bit harsh! Just looks at the exclusive games they looks and play great with mroe other good titles to come. X-Box has not had the best launch titles... but its no where near poor! It is the best launch i have seen over the past few years of new consoles.
As i said im not slaggin off other consoles cos no console in my mind has perfect release titles, but sometimes people say X-box is a disappointment just becasue certain people hate Microsoft!!!!! Ever wondered why so many people come on here from the PS2 forum jsut to say X-Box is rubbish. Im nto sure whether Ps2 owners are jealous that their console is not as good as X-Box... or they just dont like Microsoft!
'If Microsft keep releasing killer titles like Amped, DOA 3 and Halo.. then I think we will soon see the death of the PS2...that'll, show em!' - Ian - Thumb Bandits.
I would get Halo, Project Gotham, Dead or Alive 3 and Munchs Oddysee if I were to get one - But I dont think I will now!!
> Batman Vengence - Average adventure game. A good rent.
Ha ! Hilarious, I wouldn't waste £2.00 on it !
Crazy Taxi - Will be
> one of the first budget titles and a good rent for those >that havent played
> it.
Yeah as long as they like games which are repetitive.
>Luigi's Mansion - A very very
> very good game, sadly on the short side but the grading >system gives it a tiny
> bit of replay value.
So good but short....in other words a technical demo.
>Rogue Leader - The best star wars game ever, the most
> realistic star wars game ever, the msot challenging star >wars game ever.
Well most challenging won't be too hard will it ? The hardest games were the very first ones in the 80's and ever since its got worse every time. Rogue Leader uses the smae tired formula as most of the other recent games, spruced up with next gen graphics.
>Super Monkey Ball - A quite good game but superb >multiplayer.
Another Fusion Frenzy then...and how many people are looking forward to that ?
>Wave Race -
> The best ever jet ski game on any format. The water >physics are spot on. The 1
> player isnt that much of a challenge but it boasts time >attack, multiplayer,
> stunt mode and nintendo will run online passworded time >attack
> challenges.
The water physics dont look as good as Transworld Surf, which is a challenge- supposedly - on single player. The online password things is a nice, naive idea. Why ? the MGS2 online competition went amock once hackers managed to find how to use fake codes - the same will happen to this, therefore pointless, oh plus you'll need a PC because the Game cube isn't going online anytime soon.....and it'll need a hard drive to start with as well....and a modem/broadband.....
>Sonic Adventure 2 - Worth a rent for those that haven't played. Some
> sections tedious and poor camera angles. GBA link >enhances replay value with
> chao raising and fighting.
Basically a showcase for the GBA link that Nintendo has been shouting abuot since the GBA came out - they need a launch title to showcase this and prove to all those GBA owners that what they said was true.
>Quack Attack - Rentable
> platformer. nothing special.
Rentable ? This is a term being bandiedabout a lot ! I don't know about anyone else but I buy a console base on what games are worth buying !
>Gauntlet - Average.
Nope, appaling.
>The launch games quite impressive
> really considering XBox line up includes pc ports, ps2 >enhanced games and Kabuki
> Warriors :p
Halo, Dead Or Alive 2, project Gotham, Buffy, Prject EGO, Enclave, Amped, Transworld Surfing, Munch's odysee, Wreckless, Gun Valkyrie, Jet Set Radio Future, Soul Calibur 2, The Thing, Battle Engine Aquila, Dino Crisis 3, Ironstorm, the BEST versions of Ghost Recon, Silent Hill 2, SSX Tricky, Max Payne and Genma Onimusha, also Ridge Racer X, House Of The Dead 3 and many more--- all in the first year. Yeah Kabuki warriors is poor, but iwth 3 exceptions your claim of all the good games being PS2 or PC ports is false, and the usual Nintendo fan claim. So actually the Gamecube launch is pretty poor in comparison - 20 games but about 3-4 owrht buying, compared to MS's launch of roughly 12 games with 6 definitely worth buying, 3 maybes and 3 dont's !
Crazy Taxi - Will be one of the first budget titles and a good rent for those that havent played it.
Dave Mira BMX 2 - I dont rate this game.
Tarzan Untamed - A game for the kids really, and very easy apparently.
Luigi's Mansion - A very very very good game, sadly on the short side but the grading system gives it a tiny bit of replay value.
Rogue Leader - The best star wars game ever, the most realistic star wars game ever, the msot challenging star wars game ever.
Super Monkey Ball - A quite good game but superb multiplayer.
Wave Race - The best ever jet ski game on any format. The water physics are spot on. The 1 player isnt that much of a challenge but it boasts time attack, multiplayer, stunt mode and nintendo will run online passworded time attack challenges.
Tony Hawks 3 - A great game, on other formats, but then not everyone has played it yet.
Universal Studios - One of the worst games ever!
Sonic Adventure 2 - Worth a rent for those that haven't played. Some sections tedious and poor camera angles. GBA link enhances replay value with chao raising and fighting.
Spider Man Movie - Don't know about this.
Tetris Worlds - Great on the gameboy, not so fun on your 28" (or whatever) at home.
Burnout - Another PS2 shared.
Quack Attack - Rentable platformer. nothing special.
ESPN - Winter olympics? Its rubbish apparently.
FIFA 2002 - A great game.
Gauntlet - Average.
NHL Hitz - Decent.
ISS2 - Will be good.
The launch games quite impressive really considering XBox line up includes pc ports, ps2 enhanced games and Kabuki Warriors :p
> After Halo XBox gamers are left standing... err... While GC have over 20 games.
> That really gives gamers a massive choice.
Really ? Personally I'm after (as well as Halo of course :) ) Project Gotham, Wreckless, Genma Onimusha (what the PS2 version should have been), NHL 2002, Dead Or Alive 3, Buffy, Project EGO, Enclave, Jet Set Radio Future...and so on.
Now the Gamecubes launch games...hmm, the famous 20;
Batman Vengence - rubbish on every format its been released on.
Crazy Taxi - a year old PS2 game and 2+ year old dreamcast game.
Dave Mira BMX 2 - Xbox is getting this also.
Tarzan Untamed - Great for the kids....lol I think this is not going to be a game that sells the console.
Luigi's Mansion - Fun if you like Mario and a storyline that could be written by someone doing first year english creative writing. Technicaly good but again its not something that looks all that revolutionary.
Rogue Leader - Souped up Star Wars Starfighter with the same old classic scenes - I mean I must have done the death star attack run on about 5 games so far !
Super Monkey Ball - *falls over laughing*
Wave Race - This does look good, but whether it plays as good as it looks....the jet ski titles on hte PS2 have all looked great but delivered little fun.
Tony Hawks 3 - Another shared title.
Universal Studios - not a clue so I can't say !
Sonic Adventure 2 - *cough* original one that ! Suppose if you like platformers its okay but its going to need lots of new ideas to make it worth buying.
Spider Man Movie - Shared.
Tetris Worlds - Great on the gameboy, not so fun on your 28" (or whatever) at home.
Burnout - Another PS2 shared.
Quack Attack - This was a Megadrive game !!!
ESPN - Probably good
FIFA 2002 - will be on every platform known to man....
Gauntlet - rubbish on the PS2.
NHL Hitz - X box already has it.
ISS2 - Will be good.
So what out of that lots going to get brilliant reviews ? Not many methinks ! :)
