This is a topic of two parts. The first is a bit of a complaint. Yesturday I decided to buy the March edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, because it had Y2J on the front cover and was about his recent success.

I started to read it and found out the magazine was months out of date. Chris Jericho was the WCW champion after just beating the Rock at No Mercy! Reading further on I found out that the April Magazine was due out on the 15th January. It's just stupid. In the magazine they were talking about the results for October when the Alliance were still going strong.

However the articles were reasonably good which brings me onto the second part. One was about the Rock commenting on how he always uses the samoan drop, DDT, Rock Bottom and Peoples Elbow. The talked about how his matches and many other wrestlers are all the same. For some unknown reason no where in the entire article did they mention his Spinebuster or Belly to Belly Suplex and only briefly mentioned his Sharpshooter. There are a few more moves he uses which I can't remember.

Also in the same magazine was an article from 1997. It was about Rocky Maiava where they were talking about his future in the WWF. They even complimented him on his technical ability and his athleticism.

Has there been that much change in 4 years? I don't know because I have only watched WWF since just before King of the Ring 2000.

Also do you find the Rock's matches to be the same all the time? A lot of you have criticised the Rock's technical ability. He certainly puts effort into his wrestling but does he still deserve to be at the top of the WWF or has he become stale. I think he still has a lot to offer to the WWF and his matches can be very enjoyable. He also sells his opponents moves very well, making himself look more impressive at the same time by withstanding the punishment.

In the magazine they thought he needed to use submission moves more. He seems to be using the Sharpshooter a bit more than before but that's all. He doesn't use moves of the turnbuckle so his matches are a bit one-dimensional, but would that make him any more effective.

What are your thoughts?

If Rock didn't put so much enthusiasm into his wrestling, his matches would be boring.

That's not really what I'm asking. Has the Rock changed over the years, and what you think about his matches? Sorry if I didn't make it clear.

All magazines that involve wrestling ate out of date.

And yes, WWF has changed (a lot) since 1997. It has gotten a lot worse. 98/99 were the best years for wwf.
