My daughter wants to get Ecco (sorry can't account for tastes here - that's not the point)- The game isn't out for another week or so yet it has two customer reviews against it - how - you cant buy it yet ? I have seen this happen before many times and am always perplexed - good word considering I'm now of home.

It annoys me 2. How cab u review a game a week before it comes out. U can't. (unless it's FIFa which u can review from the old versionns of it)
I agree with nh here as well. And not just because I'm a fellow tractorboy ;-).
It's true that you can compile a review from existing info, say it's great etc., but what then if you buy the game, and you think it's a pile of trash? I think it's much better giving your own opinion, as you may pick up on something that hasn't been raised elsewhere.
I suppose if you know the release date of a game, that you only pay attention to reviews made after that date to avoid all the obvious compiled reviews. But even after the release date, you still can't really tell. I've reviewed just a few games, all of which I own, and played for at least 2 or 3 weeks before I reviewed them. But everyone's different.
