"Racing Games"

There are loads of racing games out at the moment. Anyone else noticed that? They range from lots of car ones to boat ones, ATV ones, Rally ones etc etc. There are so many! We need more action adventure and RPG games on the PS2 i think.

Exactly, they could increase their sales by doing things like making their game cover more attractive. Things like that will always shift games to idiots who dont do thier research. There are always gonna be idiots who work like this.

Thats true Ortega, and then i suppose its the gamers who dont research there games before buying properly that are giving these smaller companies easy money.

If they are producing shoddy games then maybe they arnt spending so much on the actual game. Its a decision all smaller developers have got to make...either spend loads on a game and hopefully it will be a hit so they reclaim thier money spend on producing the game. BUt what if they spend loads of money producing the game and it isnt a hit? they could lose a lot of money, so you can see where some companies are coming from when they produce shoddy games. They only need to sell a few copies to make a profit.

I love RPG'S, i rented Baldurs gate:dark alliance on sunday, completed it today, it was a bit short.

True there are alot of racing games out at the minutem, which has its good points and bad points. Good points are that at the moment the vast majority of them are good decent games with many top class ones too, so at least we have good games to play. Also its perfect for the racing fan with loads of games for them to choose from. However it does mean that there are less of the over genres out that we want to play too, but there are always good RPG's and sport games coming out aswell, and as time goes on things can only get better.

What i cant understand is why are the developers keep making more racing games than any others, well i may have got a little answer to that. I think its mainly because racing games are one of the easiest genres to make a game for. Before you even start to play you have the whole thing set out for you. All you need to do is make up some tracks using your imagination, design some vehicles to race and get some music and you have done, alright its not that simple but you get what i mean. If you make an idea that has a little bit of original stuff and you have a winner on your hands.

You could probably describe GTA3 as a driving game.

'Shadow Of Memories' is gorgeous,don't expect anything fast paced though.It's definately original,and 'Hommunculus'has the most relaxing voice ever!

GTA 3 aint really a racer. Sure, there are a few missions that are time based, but a majority of missions require you to get from A-to-B...whether that be by foot or car.

shadow of memories is a "decent" game i rented it for 3 days and completed it, all i can say is it is different.

Grand Theft Auto III is a racing game

What is needed is more action/adventures & RPGs with a difference. Originality is lacking in the above genres. This is why I'm looking forward to ICO.

While we're on the subject: is "Shadow OF Memories" any good? Anyone know?
