Yes it is. I was never a FPS fan until Halo. Halo is easily the best game i have ever played.
It's

OH YES IT IS! If you had chance to battle through the campaign mode, with another human friend in 5.1 dolby digital surround sound on a big T.V. You would then realise what it's all about

Prior to the xbox's release i did not encounter much hype at all. I chose the xbox as it had very good specs and a strong lineup of games. I only then realised how special Halo actually was, when i bought an xbox bundled with halo on launch day. So i don't think Halo was over hyped, especially after playing solidly through this game

I'll look at this list from my point of view:

> Halo
Not too impressive as a First Person Shooter, and I'll be able to get it on PC soon.

> Blinx: The time sweeper
Played it, and thought it was too bland and slow moving. Plus, I'll be fine with Mario and the crew.

> Unreal Championship
Decent game, I guess, but with Unreal Tournament 2003 out on PC which is better anyway, I can live without it.

> Dead or alive 3
Never been into beat 'em ups much, so I'll be fine with Super Smash Bros. Melee and possibly Mortal Kombat when it comes out.

> Amped
Average and quite dull snowboarding game in my opinion. I'm looking forward to 1080 White Storm when it's released, anyway.

> Project Gotham Racing
I didn't like Gran Turismo 3 that much, so I doubt this'll do much for me. Plus, I've got racers such as Burnout to keep me occupied.

> Rallisport Challenge
If I want a decent rally game, I'll pick one from the list available and planned for GameCube.

I don't want to sound like a fanboy (it's just my opinion after all), but I really can't find one game that's only on X-Box that I want.

Halo
Blinx: The time sweeper
Unreal Championship
Dead or alive 3
Amped
Project Gotham Racing
Rallisport Challenge

The list goes on, I mean, lets not be fanboys now. Just because some of us (not me) only have one console. I think many of you are being a little harsh on Microsoft.

Yes, but do Microsoft make the game? Yes, it may make them minimally more money, but it will lose them hundreds of console purchases, and, eventually, lose them money.

they will:

price to make halo PC game = £2 to £5
selling price of halo in PC = £20 to £30

total profit per game = £15 to £28 and lets say 10,000 sold (lots more i bet)

so thats £150,000 to £280,000, i wold do it for that kind of profit. make SENSE now?
